Re: Searching for family members with accent marks in name
It's not possible on the main filter. The search all possible names plugin has a Soundex option, which although not ideal might work. I suspect it would also be possible to adjust the plugin to search ignoring accent characters. If I can think of a way to easily find the "root" letter. https://plugi...

Re: Website Tree Diagrams with Hyperlinks
As ACProctor said, " "html, css and js only" would mean no SVG" for many of us mere mortals who can't fork out for business subscriptions or run our own webservers. My understanding, once generated SVG-FTG does not need anything more that a web page host, to hold the files, the magic is done by the...

You also might find this example of questions to ask helpful.
20 family history questions to ask your grandparents
A lot depends on if you are wanting to build a history or just a bare bones tree. For me it's the stories I like rather than the "climb".

What I have used previously is Family Group Sheet and Blanks Which prints Family Group sheets and includes the Birth, Marriage, Death fields with underlines even if they are empty. However in these modern times I often find using Zoom or a Laptop if you can meet in person and drawing out a diagram w...

Re: Compound queries (join Place to Individual records)
If you want to see all the people related to a specific place you can simply go to the Records List, select the Places tab and then select Edit>Record Links to see all the people at that place. If you want to search for say a county a simply way is to select Edit>Find and enter the text you want to ...

If you view the folder in windows file explorer what order does it show in. The folder display looks like a bog standard Windows object so my guess is you have the folder sorted by something in Windows.

Re: Make name suffix visible in F, P, & R windows...
Personally I don't have many titles in my tree, mostly just prisoner numbers. When I have worked on trees which do it's worth remembering that the main titles change over time. So I found it useful to include a title attribute so I could add dates when the titles were inherited or changed. You can e...

Re: Split tree only on surname
For one name studies, I believe most people hold on to the spouses of persons with the same surname. So a query which selects everyone matching the surname(s) you are interested in and then adds just their spouses should work for your purposes. You can then export everyone in the query result. I wou...

Re: Change Anecdotes to Notes?
Personally I would leave them as Notes attached to facts as you have more control about where they appear in narrative reports, you can easily customise the sentence for the Anecdote fact to only include the note. If you still want to move them you would need to write a plugin script to copy them to...

Only if the change is outside of normal limits for that field.
If you do accidentally change a value you always simply use the undo option to immediately change it back.

A useful helper is available on the Map as you can type a placename in at the top and it will send back a list of matching places from the Geocode DB.

It's also worth remembering that you can work on the diagram window. It gives you the power to show as much information as you want in every box and still maintain and work in the property box.

You could add your most used ones to the Favourites tab (right click and add to favourites) or just check out the most recent list.
You can do the same with source and other records as well.

If you can actually attach the printer direct to a PC running Family Historian you can print any size up to the width of the printer. Companies like My History print charts many meters wide, but you need to have a direct connection with the printer driver on the PC with FH.

Re: adding to a LIST
Presumably you are using the standard List Query to print your list, if so you need to create a copy of that query and add any columns you need to the new query.
