Re: Ancestor/Descendant count
You must have run the plugin "Create and Update Ancestor and Descendant Counts" to create them, so if you do not want them any more, run the plugin and select the Delete option.

Re: Custom Id
You don't need a plugin a query will do. Write yourself a Query which shows your custom id column. Add a filter to exclude the ones which "begins with" BS. Run the Query. Select the column with the Custom IDs (select the first one and scroll to the end and Shift Click the last one) and press the del...

Re: Mac/Linux-compatible version of Backup & Restore FH Settings via Windows plugin
As you will see from the fhfileutils, Helen and I created and submitted to Calico the original code for this. When time allows I will try and work out an enhancement to submit for consideration based on Helens previous suggestion, the limitation is you can only work with the APIs available from Wind...

Re: Mac/Linux-compatible version of Backup & Restore FH Settings via Windows plugin
From fhfilutils help
getFolderContents (sPath, bRecurse)
Return table of all files and folders in a specified folder. For each item the type, path, shortname, shortpath, created date, modified date, size and attributes are returned in a table

Re: Mac/Linux-compatible version of Backup & Restore FH Settings via Windows plugin
fhFileUtils does not provide a substitute for the Code Snippet Directory Tree . I might be missing something important, but does getFolderContents() not offer similar options local sProjectFile = fhGetContextInfo('CI_PROJECT_FILE') local sProjectPath = fhf.getParent(sProjectFile) local sPath print(...

Re: Source citation list no longer sorts correctly
Hint: If you are adding a few regular Sources you can either copy and paste the citation (it has it's own clipboard) or set up an Automatic Source citation using a Prepared citation if you are entering a lot of information from the same source. You can also add your favourite sources to the Favourit...

P.S As a developer, if you want to see how to develop your own plugins any of the ones from the store are in open code so you look and customise the source code if you want to.

If you really do not want to use the standard census event you can of course use your custom ones, you just need to select them when you build your custom queries.

Re: Siblings enumerations
What is happening currently is you are moving your ptrChild point to the Individual records and then looping that. What you need to do is loop the child links in the Family Record. So define local ptrChildRec = fhNewItemPtr() then on line 12 ptrChild = fhGetItemPtr(ptrFamily,"~.CHIL") Then around li...

Re: Copy Project Failed
I suspect your paths are getting too long.
Try using a much shorter title for the Project name.
Remember your total path and file name must be less that 256 characters if you are on a standard windows install.

Re: MyHeritage Web Hints not Working
There is a note on the notice-board for Family Historian to say there is an issue at the My Heritage end. So I suspect nothing will happen till My Heritage fix it, past problems have been a long time in the fixing.

You are missing the difference between Source Template Definitions and Source Templates. Source Templates are specific to your Project as they were imported from TMG they will not exist in Source Template Definitions. Re: Backup and Restore FH Settings via Windows - new plugin
There is another advantage with this method, which I do not think has been mentioned. I suspect the backup can be restored on to a "barebones" PC, without Family Historian installed and if a later version of FH is installed the automated "first run" routines in FH will do any element upgrades as nee...

Re: works at command prompt not as plugin
You could try using the fhShellExecute instead, it has a few more options to trap for problems. It's most likely windows permissions problems and fhShellExecute might avoid the problem as it spins out a new process rather than trying to run Lua under fhlua.

Logged for Developers means it's been passed to a developer to check, it does not mean it has been identified as a fault.
