I've just looked again at my AQ import and it had actually imported the notes but combined all the multiple notes for an individual into one note each separated by a carriage return/line feed and I missed it as I was wrongly expecting it to retain them as separate items, but thanks for your help.

Thank you for the reply. Up to now I have only tried importing into the program I used for many years before I switched to FH and that is Ancestral Quest, I was in the process of trying other programs but I haven't had time yet.

FH has the ability to have multiple notes for each individual etc., however when exporting to a GEDCOM and then importing to other programs they only seem to accept one note per individual (with as many CONT tags as necessary) and only accept the first or last NOTE tag.
