Re: Show Place Tentative Status
Yes, for some reason the Status field is not offered by the Data Reference Assistants and does not appear in the All tab of the Property Box . However, the data reference you need is %_PLAC.STAT% as illustrated by the Places Query you mentioned on its Columns tab. It shows nothing for Non-Tentative...

modify output on relationship to root
I have this in the query that I use for my records window:
=Relationship(FileRoot(),,TEXT,1)
is there a way to convert
1st cousin 7 times removed
to
1c7r
or is there a short form like there is for dates and places?

Re: FH lack of color coding capability
Thank you Mike - I don't know why I was unable to find it. I did search before posting. I find it difficult to find what I'm looking for on the message boards, knowledge base, wish lists. Possibly this is because I haven't learned the FH speak yet. I didn't understand how to vote at that time. I jus...

FH lack of color coding capability
I've done a search for "color" and "colour" but only see references to diagrams. I don't use diagrams. Tried it but found it to be much slower and a bit tedious. I prefer to do entries either from the focus window/property box or the Individuals records/property box. The one feature I really miss fr...

Re: Finding Expressions
This looks really cool. Can you copy/paste the code you used? More to the point, how do I get it to only show on direct ancestors? 2. I need Ahnentafel to be a universal, visible data element, like name and gender, automatically populated where appropriate. I haven't really followed this thread so n...

new Wishlist item - beefed up associates
I've been playing with the new FamilySearch "other relationships" capability and would like FH to adopt some of this. see https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/GK3N-LRB In FS you enter it once and it creates a two-way area to put in notes, events and sources. This is editable from either ...

Re: Excluding Facts/Attributes from scope of Date Warnings
I followed your instructions and it works fine.
I see that the rejected flag is part of the Private-Preferred-Rejected-Tentative set. It would be nice if "confirmed" could be added to that set.

Re: Excluding Facts/Attributes from scope of Date Warnings
Mike - copied to create new query but there is already an exclude statement on Rows:
Exclude if %FACT._FLGS.__REJECTED% is set.
What is it referring to? Is there already a flag created or do I need to create one called REJECTED?

Re: Excluding Facts/Attributes from scope of Date Warnings
Mike - I don't even know what ages would be appropriate for marriage.
After my great grandmother died, great grandpa remarried. They were both in their 80s.
There are always outliers on the bell curve.
I think I'll have to go with a query adjustment maybe against a flag for exceptions.

Re: narrative report - excluding some aka names
Thank you.
I was hoping to avoid editing an RTF as this sometimes causes formatting issues and a I'm not a Word wiz.
While I came from Rootsmagic, I did not import my data. I'm hand entering people and cleaning up my data as I go.

narrative report - excluding some aka names
Is there a way to exclude some of the aka names on a narrative report. I've put in different names so that the various sources are attached to the name variant found there. John Quincy Adams (also known as John Q. Adams) -- seems a little silly. I might only have one source spelling out the middle n...

Re: Excluding Facts/Attributes from scope of Date Warnings
I am having this as well, but not because of an import problem. I ran the Fact Date Warnings report and fixed a couple of errors but what is left is people who lived to 101 and 102 and many people who married late in life. How do I flag these as a-okay so I don't need to review them again in the fut...

family group sheet - marriage of couple
I've been playing with the settings but cannot find a way to print the marriage information for the parents of the family anywhere other than the family summary which includes a list of children. Ideally I'd like the marriage/divorce/etc. without the children as they are already detailed below the p...

Re: How do I designate a fact type as non-printing?
Thank you Mike and Helen. I think I understand the problem and that there is no good solution. A. It is possible to exclude a particular fact type for both primary and witnesses/roles. B. It is possible to exclude ALL witnessed events but not some. So, the only way around this is to create two obitu...

Re: private notes not private?
To exclude those fact Template contents replace them with the {blank} code. Hi Mike. I'm looking at the Family Group Sheet report in this case. Using the {blank} in place of the sentence contents doesn't exclude it from the report. It is now just less informative: Screenshot 2022-09-13 152028.jpg s...

How do I designate a fact type as non-printing?
Do I have to flag each one as private individually? I created a DNA match fact that works wonderfully well --- except it appears on the reports. I created a obituary fact that I want to print for the primary but not for any of the witnesses. [Bev, I've made this a topic on its own as it isn't really...

Do I add it to the FH script or create a second script?

Re: customize property box with named lists
Here's what I've been doing. Working through an obituary I've been adding people, or adding residences existing people etc., or just adding them to a named list without edits. I'm doing ALT+E, ALT+A, type list name. Once finished I can go to the obituary fact and share it with all the people on the ...
