Re: FH7 & Evidenced Explained Questions
If you are comfortable writing your own citations then you may wish to consider using a pair of simple Freeform Citation Source Templates that I wrote. Please note that they are for Family Historian V7.

Re: source template - unexpected results
Good to see how you had a problem and then resolved it!
If it makes for a more streamlined workflow, you might find my Freeform Source Citation Template B of interest as it would allow you to copy and paste your RM templates into FH7, with the database name in italics.

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?
thanks Nick. Yes, I've probably done what I need to do using the FH Fact but just out of interest, if I were to do it in AS as you suggest, would it be by using Custom Events in the Census Template Editor?
Are they documented anywhere?

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?
Yes I can see how to do that now, though I've never added a fact before in FH. Good to learn something new! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
Update - I just completed the addition. It worked a treat! Thanks again!

Re: Using AS I somehow created something bizarre
I recall adding Christian in AS as an unrelated individual at some point so that's perhaps where I went wrong. I guess I should have added him as a New Spouse to Doritz. I probably did it both ways which would explain why I had two individuals with the same name. The two families were created at dif...

Re: Using AS I somehow created something bizarre
Nick, the two Christian Anders on the screenshot are both 448. In an attempt to tidy up I deleted 447, also Christian Anders, as expanding this entry by using the plus sign on the Individuals tab on FH showed that he had almost no additional additional information. I've attached a screenshot of Chri...

Re: Using AS I somehow created something bizarre
I wonder if I might have been better off creating the husband as a new person in FH and then using AS to create the census entry? Anyway it wouldn't be too much of an issue to restore from backup and start again.

Using AS I somehow created something bizarre
I used AS to create a census entry for Doritz Marie Tetzlaff who already existed in FH. New in this census was her husband Christian Anders Tetzlaff who was not already in FH, so I created him in AS. Somehow this resulted in this odd focus window in FH with the same couple appearing twice. The top h...

Re: Entering gravestone with two names on it
I would simply copy the burial fact of the first person, which you have already created, and paste it to the record of the second person. Then amend the burial date for the second person. (If you have any information in a note to the fact this might also need amending for the second person.) To cop...

Entering gravestone with two names on it
I'd like to record a gravestone with two names on it into FH7. Each name has birth and death dates to record. I've used Ancestral Sources to create a burial record for the first name which seems to have gone well but what's the best way to enter the second name? If I should wish to log another grave...

Report subject name and source citations
Is there a way to list all subjects and their associated source citations? I'm thinking of something along the lines of a report with the following columns (but would probably be ok with anything along these lines): Name............... Event ......Source Citation A. N. Other ........Birth ........Ci...

Issue with "Edit|Add new empty row (person not in file)"
Using v7.4.1 64bit, the button 'Add new empty row (person not in file) adds a new row as expected but the menu equivalent Edit | Add new empty row (person not in file) does nothing. Am I using it wrongly?

Re: Entering Evidence! Style citations
Perhaps other users out there may be using Evidence Explained style citations. If so, I'd be interested to learn how you use the FH interface to enter them. I keep an Excel research log with my recent findings, each with a citation that I created from the Evidence Explained book or website. Once I'...

Re: Freeform Citation Source Templates
Teresa, thanks for checking it out. I now realise that the collection name is taken from the name of the Family Historian Source Template file (.fhst) that's installed. I've reset it to User Written.fhst and updated the instructions accordingly.
