Re: Diagram marriage duplicated of all persons
Would multiple marriages or a duplicate person affect it? (Still learning, but it maybe something else you check) For example: A: I have multiple possible marriage dates for some couples and they were input as separate facts some of which have tentative, rejected or preferred flags. (Opposed individ...

Partial Date Period in sentence
I've been using the Period tab on the Date Entry Assistant for things like occupation and residence. The sentence sound normal enough if I have the start time and not end time, but it could be better. From 1739 he was a road surveyor OR He was a road surveyor from 1739. To me it would sound better t...

How would I add the witness' relationship in the sentence
I have found that the relationship function exists, but I am having trouble figuring out how to make it work. https://www.family-historian.co.uk/help/fh7/hh_start.htm#fn_category_relationship.html shows the parameters, but I'm not understanding how to input the two people. What I am trying to do is ...

Labeled Notes: where is my error in hidden note?
When entering military wartime service in an attribute type fact I was trying to use labeled notes to enter additional information. It was my understanding that I could put the labeled note in double brackets so that the labeled note didn't show up twice (once as the main part of the sentence and th...

Drc, please define
I am trying to get my data into the right fields and make sense. I had serval things end up the wrong place and I have no clue what Drc is supposed to mean. One place it shows up as someone's religion and in another instance a couple was married in Nyc Drc. Nyc from the couple is likely New York Cit...

Re: How to handle unsure dates
Is there a way to leave out the interpreted date out of the sentence. For example an individual died on March 30th and I know that is was sometime after 1920 since he was present of that years census. I inputted the information as a phrase with a note then selected an interpreted as for the date, bu...

How to handle unsure dates
Eventually further research would be warranted, but for the time being I an trying to figure out the best way to record the data that I have. I have many instances where I know the exact month and day but not the correct year, either through faulty memory, smudged numbers or conflicting sources. Suc...

Re: most of my media gone; bad jpg file
That is a good idea, unfortunately it didn't work for me. It appears some of the file names are different not sure why. I do have multiples for several of the pictures. Is that what the plug in is for? Which plug-in are you referring to?

Re: most of my media gone; bad jpg file
The media file imported, but I have to start over from scratch on merging the files. Which is a long process, and from they way I understand it I can't stop in the middle or all of my selections will be lost. I was trying to avoid this, but don't see how I can with new gedcom files. But yes the medi...

Re: most of my media gone; bad jpg file
Thank you for the reply. I was afraid to do anything for fear I'd screw it up worse. The OLD Heritage family tree program is Heritage Family Tree Deluxe 3.0. I had to export from that program to gedcom and it was the gedcom that I imported. Yes, the check box stating Copy any linked media files into...

most of my media gone; bad jpg file
I transferred several gedcom files from an OLD program into their own project then merged them. I have spent several days working with that data fixing errors and learning the Family Historian 7 program. There are around 700 media objects pictures, etc. that show as a white box with an x inside. If ...
