Re: Multiple Citations One Source
ColeValleyGirl - you just made me laugh out loud!!! Thank you that makes sense. I plunged into this at the start and input details in a rather "disorganised" way. As I discover more about my ancestors I'm now trying to be more consistent and do things "properly" so I may be guilty of overkill where ...

Re: Multiple Citations One Source
Mike thank you for the reply- yes from the previous replies and reading the Sources and Citations in Version 7 (for New Users) I now understand that. With regard to your last point as to whether the Citation is necessary - in my lack of understanding I assumed that Sources should always have Citatio...

Re: Multiple Citations One Source
Thanks for the replies - Redvanman - yes I've read the help file for V7 new users. That's what made me believe I could generate multiple different citations referring to one source but I'm obviously going astray somewhere. LornaCraig I haven't looked at modifying anything from the default yet but ca...

Multiple Citations One Source
Hello - I'm fairly new to FH and trying to get my head around Sources and Citations. I thought I understood but obviously don't so forgive a simple question (I searched but couldn't find anything on this specifically). I have a Headstone with two names as a single source. I thought I could produce t...

Re: Understanding the link between AS and Family Historian
Installed and used the Plugin. Deleted the citation and any references to the Marriage Certificate in FH, entered the Marriage details through AS and it worked perfectly this time. As I said - a steep learning curve and a long way to go!
Thanks to both of you for your help

Re: Understanding the link between AS and Family Historian
Thanks Mike - I'll do that. I deleted the Marriage event in FH before re-entering it in AS so maybe that has caused a something strange to happen! A steep learning curve!

Re: Understanding the link between AS and Family Historian
Hi Lorna, Yes I saved the file. I've just tried a test with a completely blank project. I created two people in FH, opened the project in AS and created a marriage (and saved it). Then went back to FH and the marriage event is there. It's obviously something to do with the having pre-existing people...

Understanding the link between AS and Family Historian
Hi , please forgive this question from a complete novice. I've come from the Legacy programme a while back, and (in my initial enthusiasm) entered data in a not terribly consistent way and am now trying to become more disciplined in my approach, hence starting to use Ancestral Sources. When I enter ...
