Address bar stopped working

I have been transferring info from one tree to another working on the latest updated version of Family Historian. As I transfer facts from one to the other the address bar in the tree I am transferring data to has suddenly stopped working. I cannot add any data.
Any ideas please??

Re: Backing up data and settings

Thank you Mike
I did play around with the time line for events query in a test project I created but didn’t actually save it.
I will back up as you suggest

Re: Backing up data and settings

I have just read this post with fear and trepidation!! I hope you don’t mind if I add my question here rather than starting a similar thread. My laptop is about to undergo a Windows 10 re installation because of a software problem that Dell are unable to fix. I am not technically minded and have ask...

Re: Source and citation

I may not have explained myself very well. Importing from Ancestry I found several things I didn’t want eg Index only sources, many of which are wrong eg I am working mainly in Hampshire and their baptism and burial indexes are bad. OR I now have a screen shot of the actual register , so I don’t nee...

Re: Source and citation

Thank you everyone for your replies. I think I am on information overload trying to take everything in. Rightly or wrongly I have deleted all the sources that came across in my Ancestry Gedcom as one source often links to several events, creating anomalies, and I didn't want that. I am going to crea...

Source and citation

I am fairly new to Family Historian and working in this type of format. I am using V7. I had my tree on Ancestry and transferred it via a Gedcom. I have studied the Fhug knowledge base which I find more straight forward than the help pages, and asked various questions on the Forum, and feel I am rea...

Thank you, again

I will add all these answers to my "How to" Fam Hist Notebook because they are bound to crop up again in the Future, and I will have forgotten by then :D

Re: Producing a Timeline of events for a place

Hello again tatewise. Yes thank you Events near place is now back in Facts and Events. No the 1871 census is not listed in Custom Queries. It has disappeared altogether. So may I just ask please:- If in future I go to Events and Places, and select a village, it will bring up a list of all events tha...

Re: Producing a Timeline of events for a place

Thank you for replying tatewise

It does not say custom when I open up Events near place

Events near place does not appear in any of the other groups.

Incidentally I added the latest upgrade to V7 today before looking at Query tab but I am sure that is irrevalent.

Re: Producing a Timeline of events for a place

Help!! I followed Janey's instructions and all seemed well, I even narrowed it down to the 1871 census for the village I was interested in. Then I must have done something wrong because when I went into queries again today I found Events near Place was under a new heading of 1871 census and it just ...

Jane

Thank you, I have manage to produce what I wanted with your instruction.

I didn't think to look directly in Queries. I was concentrating on Maps and Publish but hadn't followed through to Queries from there.

Re: Producing a Timeline of events for a place

Thank you for your reply. This topic seems to refer to individuals, and the different reports that can be produced for them, whereas I am concerned with producing a report of a timeline of events for a Place, that includes all my Ancestors and their events associated with them, in that place. I am u...

Producing a Timeline of events for a place

Forgive me if I have missed any topics on this, I have looked, but couldn't find an answer after a quick search. All of my Family back beyond my Grandparents lived almost exclusively in Hampshire, England, and in a small number of villages. I know that I have a knotty tree. I would like to be able t...

Individual Timeline Report

I tried to print my own timeline report today and it included all my notes, which I didn't want. I went into options and made sure I had unchecked all the boxes except include address but it is still doing it.
Is there something else I should have done or is there a glitch?
Many thanks

Re: Importing Media From Ancestry

Victor thank you for your great advice. I have an extensive collection of saved records on my laptop and funnily enough I spent some time recently "Ordering them" by Family names and members of the different Families so that I could find them easily!! This will help me with your suggestion. Any gaps...

Re: Importing Media From Ancestry

I have just imported my Ancestry Tree to Family Historian 7 via a gedcom. I am new to FH. I knew that my media wouldn't be imported, but I didn't want to delete it all from my Ancestry Tree in case something went wrong with the import to FH 7, and I want to continue using both in the short term unti...

Ancestral Charts

Hello This is my first post so apologies if I make an error. My Father was born as the result of an affair so in the Focus Box I have linked him to his biological Father and his step Father, who brought him up and whose name appears on his birth certificate! When pulling up an ancestral chart for hi...
