I'd like to create a diagram of selected individuals that can be identified by a flag, or membership of a list or by a query. The only way I can think to do it is to export the individuals I want included to a separate gedcom or project and then use Everyone Diagram.
Have I missed something?

Re: FH7 indication of relationship for "non-direct" ancestors
The "How Related" tool can be used to show the relationship between any two individuals in your project. You as root do not need to be one of the two individuals. ... which Lorna gave guidance on in her post two before mine. My post was to point out that if you just wanted the relationship to the f...

Re: FH7 indication of relationship for "non-direct" ancestors
If you are only looking for the relationship to yourself and you are the file root, you can use the How Related tool from the Focus Window to find your relationship to the currently displayed person.

Very minor suggestion
When you start up AS and a new version is available you get the pop-up (or if you use Check for Updates) Would it possible to add to that pop-up the current version (including 32/64bit)? Reason: when you click the Download Ancestral Sources v n.n.n link you are taken to a page where both 32 and 64 b...

Re: Occupation icons in Diagrams
Incidently, often the occupation that is most pertinent is not the first one so in the absence of a preferred it would be best if it defaulted to the last (e.g. if the first is "Scholar" from a census). There's a wish list item asking for a new index option that does that - if this is something you'...

Re: Occupation icons in Diagrams
Would making it the preferred occupation and adjusting the expression accordingly work for you? If there is no preferred it defaults to the first so you'd only have to set preferred on the individuals where it wasn't the first.

Re: Adding sources without templates
I would strongly recommend that you try out Ancestral Sources - it makes things very significantly easier and quicker than doing it in Family Historian. When starting out with FH I actually found it easier to understand sources and citations by looking at the data created by AS. The author is a very...

Re: This week's active discussion topics in the FHUG Forums email
I'm finding these days that using the New posts Quick link ( https://www.fhug.org.uk/forum/search.php?search_id=newposts ) is far more useful, especially as you can click the document icon I've highlighted which takes you to the first unread post in the topic. New posts.png The email does serve ...

Re: Linked census records
Have you watched the videos on how to use Ancestral Sources? https://fhug.org.uk/kb/kb-article/ances ... es-videos/
I'm not sure I understand your question: are you wanting to create links to other family members who were not residing at the same place at the time of the census?

Re: Ancestry Synchronization Plugin
I already do something like this - I have a tree on Ancestry which is only my relatives (not my wife's). I copy my main tree with has both my relatives and my wife's. Then delete all my wife's relatives from the copy (using Split Tree Helper with a query).

However, to avoid ending up with mixed fonts in a note I normally paste by using right-click with the mouse and then Paste Unformatted Text. Have you tried that? Another option is to add a browser extension which gives a right click option "Copy as plain text" - there's extensions that do that for ...

Re: New version of Ancestry Synchronization plugin
When you tried to select the RM database did it open a file selection dialog? If it does you need to navigate to the directory where you created the RM database. If you can't do that can you post a screen shot of what you see when you click the select button please.

Mark, I couldn't test this, but would it allow you to select a RM database if it's already linked to an Ancestry tree?

Re: New version of Ancestry Synchronization plugin
I haven't access to a computer to test at present, but I think if you unlink the Ancestry tree in RM (and delete the tree from Ancestry), you should be able to select the RM database ready to do the update.

Re: New version of Ancestry Synchronization plugin
Have a read of the help as you have the sequence wrong: https://pluginstore.family-historian.co.uk/page/help/ancestry-synchronization You should export, import to RM, then select the RM database. That should bring up a file selection dialog after which it will show the name of the linked RM file. Th...

Wish list item 526 Unless I'm missing something, I think this works in 7. If you click the source field name it synchronises, but if you click the name of the source it s...

Re: Unblocking the Wish List process
And whose definition of dross do we use? I'd class something as dross if it was raised some time ago and has attracted a minimal number of votes and/or a very low rating. For example raised in 2016 and has attracted only two votes (there's three of those). Or raised over 10 years ago with only four...

Re: Unblocking the Wish List process
Looking through the wish list itself I've just come across https://www.fhug.org.uk/wishlist/wldisplay.php?wlwlref=373 It's description is headed "CLOSED - Lack Of Interest", but is still included in the list of current (non-completed) items. I wonder if assigning a fake "Released in version" (0.0 or...
