Re: Duplicate individuals plug in vs merge and compare
Thanks Mike. Yes, I did transfer my old RM project to FH a long time ago so your suggestion is probably the most sensible thing I could do. My only concern is that I might have added to the FH project early on and not added those to RM. One thing I'm not very good at is consistency! I'm thinking tha...

Duplicate individuals plug in vs merge and compare
I want to transfer my Roots Magic 9 gedcom to my FH7 database. Most of it is exactly the same but I know there are some additions to RM missing from FH. Is it quicker/ easier to merge the two files then use the duplicate individuals plug in or is the merge/ compare option in FH better? I have less t...

Edit name in RTF census grid
I'm just at the practising stage of using AS and have come across an issue that I'm sure is simple to solve but I just can't see it! I have an Irish family who spent a census year in Cornwall and undoubtedly as a result of unfamiliar accents, their surname and some of their forenames are seriously m...

Re: A Tale of Two Laptops, FH v6 & v7, & Crossover!
Mike, that is exactly how I did it before when I moved it to the Mac and, of course, it has worked perfectly this time too! I got myself tied up in knots with crossover and different versions so couldn't see the obvious.
Thank you for your help and your patience.

Re: A Tale of Two Laptops, FH v6 & v7, & Crossover!
Thanks Mike. I did eventually get the plug-in to work and I copied the backup files across to the laptop via Dropbox. Sadly, nothing happened when I tried to open it - I assume because FH is not installed on the laptop? It doesn't really help that I have no idea what I'm doing! What about if I downl...

Re: A Tale of Two Laptops, FH v6 & v7, & Crossover!
Thank you both for your advice.
I'll have a go tomorrow.
UPDATE: I have just tried to double check the version on my Mac and the latest updates refuse to open so the only one usable is v7.0.2. Luckily, I have small back-ups of the data but it does add an extra complication?

A Tale of Two Laptops, FH v6 & v7, & Crossover!
I seem to have created a very complicated situation so I hope someone can help me unpick it! I was running FHv6 on a notebook but, fed up with the tiny screen, I installed Crossover on my iMac and ran FHv6 via that instead. No problems... I upgraded to FHv7 on my iMac (in Crossover) but have since e...

Re: CrossOver v19
I've just discovered Crossover and am thrilled to see FH on my large screened Mac! I'm only on the Crossover free trial at the moment and this may be why I cannot access FMP or MH hints? Clicking on the hint opens the web screen but nothing else happens - it's blank. Can you access hints on the full...
