Consistency Checking
Is there any way to consistency check the data in FH7? I'm thinking of date inconsistencies in particular, eg death before birth. I've run File/Validate on my tree of 1,509 individuals , but it was so fast that I can't see that it did this.

Re: Print All Data
Thank you both. It is a real issue. I agree that the volume of paper is probably prohibitive. I have to be realistic though. Interest in family ancestors may well skip a generation or more and seeing the advances in technology makes a choice of backup media difficult. Using the cloud or indeed an ex...

Print All Data
I'm thinking about making a hard printed copy of everything held within my FH tree & media folder as a secure historical family record. There are lots of reports available, but any advice on the best approach to achieve this would be very welcome. I would also make a DVD copy.

Re: Y DNA Diagram - Reset Root
Ah!! I have discovered I can change root successfully if I right click on diagram background rather than use the Edit command. Ignore the query, the workaround is ok.

Re: Y DNA Diagram - Reset Root
When I select myself on a diagram at the top of the screen, eg Rels, my box is marked as the Root. If I then select, as described above, either the shared Y or the shared Mitochondrial DNA, my box turns deep yellow and the diagram root is changed to my most distant ancestor at the top of the tree. T...

Re: Y DNA Diagram - Reset Root
In this instance, that choice doesn't work. Therein lies the problem.

Y DNA Diagram - Reset Root
If I select Charts/DNA Diagrams/Shared Y Chromosome, I get exactly what I want except that the diagram root is changed to the top of the tree. I can, perhaps, see the logic to that, but I need to be able to select the Root, as in other diagrams, in order to correctly indicate the relationships betwe...

Many thanks, Helen. Sorry for not finding the article on Knowledge Base. I searched the Forum but not the KB.
I do apologise.

FH7 on main PC & subsidiary Laptop
I run FH7 on a Windows 10 PC, but want to use it on odd occasions on a Laptop in remote locations, eg graveyards, research venues and family meetings. This is allowed by the usage T&C's as I understand it. I can easily arrange for my main Project files to reside on the Cloud, or have a backup copy t...

V7 Record Census Data (UK) - Ver 1.4
When I click on Run, it responds: "Not all required fields set, please ensure you have entered region, year, head of household and location." The only possible response is OK, which exits the plugin. The Census Data Input form shown on the entry in the Plugin Store description does not appear. Help!!

Re: Auto Repair Links
Hi Mike, I've corrected my problem by disabling the drives that FH was "erroneously" looking at and moving some of the other folders onto external drives, which I physically disconnected. FH then found the "missing" files which were in the Media folder all along, leaving me with those "genuinely" mi...

Re: Auto Repair Links
Thank you both for your comments, but I have to disagree with you. As you have described it, is as I would have expected. However, that is not what happened. I can only assume that it doesn't explore the folders correctly. I have many unchanged filenames which were picked up from different versions ...

Auto Repair Links
All of my media files are within the standard Media folder. I have had to reorganise Media by creating new folders within it and moving files around. I mistakenly thought that Auto Repair Links would relink the files by searching for them within Media and only then looking elsewhere. I now have link...
