Re: Oddity when pasting Footnote text from FH to word processor

Response from CP:

"We have confirmed what you are seeing, when copying the Footnote text in the side panel of the Citation Window.  This will be fixed in the next upgrade."

I very rarely see this kind of almost immediate response from software developers.

Ticket now submitted.

The problem seems to apply when the text starts plain, is then italics, and finally returns to plain.
Whether the problem affects other combinations of text style is open to experimentation.

The behaviour is unexpected so report it to CP and see what they say.

Re: Oddity when pasting Footnote text from FH to word processor

Is it still worth reporting to CP, given there's a workaround?

Yes, my experiment was with Genetric Sources which exhibit the same problem.

Re: Oddity when pasting Footnote text from FH to word processor

Interesting observation. I wonder what changed within the last few months. I too would be curious to know if it happens with generic sources. I tested this with a couple of my different citation formats (all based on custom source template definitions) and noticed that it only occurs where there is ...

Ah, light goes on. Thanks, Sarah :) Worked for me in Atlantis as well. Still very odd, given I never had to worry before. Yes - I realize that, however it's then annoying to have to delete that word for 10-20 citations...However, at least I now know it's not just me. I'll report it to CP and see wha...

Re: Oddity when pasting Footnote text from FH to word processor

Thanks for confirming it's not just me. I figured that must be the issue, however, I know it didn't used to happen. I will report it to CP. I can replicate the same problem. Revealing the text formatting in Word shows that it is picking up an erronous Italic format at the beginning of the pasted sec...

Oddity when pasting Footnote text from FH to word processor

I've noticed for the past few months that when copying footnote text from a FH7 source and then pasting it to my word processor (Atlantis), the first line is italicized, even though the italics aren't present in the FH display. However, if I include the Footnote header in the citation area, the ital...

And I know Teresa (who posts here sometimes) has a blog about using FH, and she specifically has done what you are doing regarding replacing old Ancestry generated source citations with new ones. Her blog is here - https://writingmypast.wordpress.com/

Re: Adding sources without templates

Like you, I loathe the Ancestry sources/citations (though mine came in via my RootsMagic file that I TreeShared with Ancestry and imported to FH)... Instead of deleting them all, I've been going through and using Ancestral Sources or FH templates to add new sources/citations and THEN deleting the An...

Agreed, however, IIRC, in his Intro to Ancestral Sources video, Nick demonstrates how "lumpers" can use AS successfully as well.

In the London area one can try the Metropolitan archives and down load a free copy of the certificate (I have done this a few times)

I started doing this recently. Sadly, RootsMagic and TreeShare (RootsMagic) created Residence facts each time I saved an Electoral Roll record against my ancestors... Re: 1931 Canada Census template

I need to make a second Census template for 1931 as there was more than one schedule used. However, I can't seem to make that happen. Will AS allow me to create a second 1931 template?

Or am I just note choosing the correct options?

Thanks :)
