I avoided any awkward sentences by using "({cause})"

He died (cancer) on 9 August...
He died (wounded in the Battle of 1765) on 3 April...
She died (fell off a cliff) on 15 December...

You can create a general custom event via Tools > Fact Types > New . It will have all the standard event fields of Date , Age , Place , Address , Cause , and Note , plus Media and Source Citations . I'm not getting the Cause field when creating a new event. I would like to duplicate the fields that...

Thanks! I think I actually like the UK date format better. But putting the comma inside <> can leave one dangling all alone if I'm missing the date or whatever else comes afterwards. For example: He emigrated from Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut between June 26, 1636 and July, 1638. I would prefer there not be a comma between the month and year when the day is missing, and there should be a comma after 1636. Ideally, there should be a comma after Connecticut, too, but I supp...
