Re: Publishing Descendant Text File Locks FH

I am running FH 7.0.20 on a Windows 10 PC I recently experienced a problem where FH would “hang”, requiring the FH process to be terminated as the only way out. This only happened on certain individuals. The “Individual Summary Report” would work OK, but the “Individual Narrative” Report would hang ...

Books - Problems with multiple Fan Charts

Hello all, In each of my "Books" I have two or three fan charts to give an overview position in the family tree. With the move to FH7 I now seem to have an issue when I have multiple fan charts in a book. When I view the book only one fan chart is shown for every individual. Example; In the "Book It...

Re: FH7 Paragraphs missing in reports

Hello all, I would just like to say that I too do not understand why the <br> and <para> codes do not seem to work in V7. In my humble view the removal(?) of these two codes has made the narrative reports look very messy compared to v6. I have not yet found a workaround, adding a period does give a ...

Will V6 backups work in V7 of FH

Hello, Just a quick question, I have a quite a few backups from my V6 FH. When I move to V7 will these backups be valid any longer or should I immediately start to create new V7 backups? I only use the inbuilt FH "Full" backup command & Mike Tates "Backup & Restore FH settings" plugin (v2.9). Thanks...

Re: Modifying the sentence field produces inconsistent results in reports

Hello all, Thanks for the speedy and helpful replies. I am not sure I understand why the apparent inability of the Record Detail - Individual report to parse the contents of the <field> into a meaningful sentence should be regarded as normal behaviour. If the report can parse the contents of each <f...

Modifying the sentence field produces inconsistent results in reports

Hello, I am running FH 6.2.2 on a windows 7 PC. Has anyone noticed that modifying the sentence field produces different results depending which report you're running? As an example I am using the <Hair (Military)> field. The default text shows ; {individual's} hair in the forces was '{value}' {date}...
