Re: FH PDF Printer Settings

Thank you Jane, Mike and Martin.

In the end, I have had to go with the "as is" situation, as none of the proposed solutions (for which I thank each of you) has worked for me - the printer company does not have the technology to solve this issue either.

Many thanks anyway. Much appreciated.

FH PDF Printer Settings

I am close to having a book published. It has been created using FH. It contains many diagrams and charts in colour. However I am told that FH creates a PDF file wherein the B&W pages of text are in fact CYMK colour which prints as black and looks like black, but for the purpose of the printing mach...

Sound advice Mike.

I will try that. I think it may be the sequence as you suggest.

Will let you know.

Re: Book Size

Yes I have been using the Select Chart Pages screen in the Settings for a particular page - and there on the RH side is the scale slider. So I have been adjusting the slider % to get the image onto one or 2 pages depending on what I want to see. I then use the Position on Page button so as to enable...

Re: Book Size

Thank you Jane and Mike. I will make sure I use the FH Printer choice - and set to A4. I have been using the scale slider in the book's own Select Chart Pages window. Is that a bad idea ? I had not realised that I can use Diagram > Layout & Scaling > Diagram Scale. This Layour & Scaling window and o...

Book Size

Folks, I am using the FH Publish Book feature and am trying to produce it in A4 size. I am down to the wire with the printer. I do not see where to set the page size to be A4 within FH. I am finding that some diagrams that are produced by inserting a FH chart or an image seem to "slip" or "slide" ov...

Unmarried Status from FH to Gedsite

I am using Mike Tait's excellent GST plug-in to export a gedcom that goes into Gedsite. It works just fine, let me say. I have read most of the abundant exchanges here about the treatment of relationships that are not traditional marriages based on a formal event, be it religious or civil. I have al...

Re: Census Witnesses & Sentences

Thanks Mike for your prompt reply. Yes, you are right. If I look at the witnesses for the 1861,1871 and 1881 Censuses, when Margaret is the Head of Household, she is indeed listed also as a Witness. I have deleted the Witness entry in the All tab for the Head however this does not seem to have any i...

Census Witnesses & Sentences

I am having some issues with witnesses and census events. I am aware of previous discussions regarding Fact Witnesses and Witness Roles, Sentence Templates and Witness Sentence Templates and Override Templates for the Facts tab. I understand too that Fact Witnesses is not the recommended method for ...

Re: Export to TMG

Mike, OK, exported using ANSI .. and imported into TMG too. Some fact types, roles, "witness" and media did not travel over well but that was expected and we can live with that, the main thing is that structures and relationships are all there. Thanks for the info about ANSI rather than UTF8 ... tha...

Re: Export to TMG

Hi Mike ... and all the best to you and your family too. We are still suffering from a lot of smoke here and fires everywhere and we are hardly into the really hot time yet in Australia. No doubt there may have been a fair bit of rain where you are ? What climate change ? Yes, I have left TMG ... an...

Export to TMG

A somewhat weird inquiry here. What is the best way to export a small Gedcom file from FH to TMG ? I am having some trouble importing the FH generated 5.5 into TMGUKGold 9.5

Any help, much appreciated.

Re: Where are the Citation Details from TMG

Thanks Helen and Mike, I have no comment to make on the to's and fro's between you here, apart from to say how much I appreciate the collective wisdom. It is especially valuable as the content of the discussion has assisted in my broader understanding of the way FH deals with Facts and Citations. BT...

Re: Where are the Citation Details from TMG

Found it thanks. I just needed a bit more penetration of the layers to discover the text. I found the Citation Details 4 layers down, here :-

Fact
.. Source
.. .. Data
.. .. .. Text From Source which contains the Citation Details.

Thanks for the hint.

Where are the Citation Details from TMG

Folks, I need to edit a Citation Detail that supports a Source imported from TMG. I know that the Citation Detail has arrived into FH, because I can see the Citation Details in a Ancestors by Generation Report. However, I just can't find the Citation Details to make an edit. I can find the Source re...

Re: All Relatives List

Mike, Thanks. I will give that idea a whirl. As for discussing this before in Ancestor and Descendant List Creation (16262) last October, I have been wrestling with it all myself trying to solve it in vain - and eventually came to the Forum for help. The other option I had in mind was the All Relati...

Re: All Relatives List

Sorry Mike, not exactly. I do not want a Report for each of the people. What I am trying to do is create a list of the relatives and their consanguinity. Just a list - with one row per person. If I could get that list (a) into my Book (b) with an entry in the Index - then that is exactly what I am t...
