Re: Free upgrade to V7
I bought it from Calico Pie Limited - Receipt #1876-4970. This was on the email receipt: If you have any questions, contact us at family-historian.co.uk.

Free upgrade to V7
I bought V 6.2.7 in June 2020, with a free upgrade to V 7. I have saved the Registration Code, but when I tried to download the upgrade (with the RC cut & pasted) a message says the RC does not exist. Could someone please tell me how to get the upgrade? Thanks.

Re: create .jpg tree diagram retaining scrolling
Have now enabled .PDF as suggested. Two options come up: 1. Use Current Page Layout, & 2. Adjust PDF File Page Size so that Diagram fits into One Page (if possible). When I use 1. the diagram is broken up into a series of pages with a vertical scrollbar to enable viewing of the pages above & below (...

create .jpg tree diagram retaining scrolling
My tree diagrams require scrolling to see the whole diagram. No problem, but when I save as a .jpg to send to other people the diagram shrinks to fit a window. Usually this means it is virtually unreadable. There must be a way to retain scrolling, but I can't spot it. Can anyone suggest a solution? ...

Removing unneeded broken media links
I wonder if it is possible to remove unneeded broken media links. After clicking "Tools", then "External File Links", there are a large number of file names with red crosses. These are not needed now as I have corrected the various problems, & the correct file names also appear in the report. Is the...

Empty notes
FH 6.2.7 Have run a Standard Query, Last Updated Note Records, & there are quite a few <no text> results. I would simply like to delete these notes, as there doesn't seem to be any point in keeping them, but there doesn't seem to be any simple way to do that. There is no record number given, & doubl...

The Miscellaneous, Immigration, & Military notes are now showing perfectly, thanks for the plugin.
Yes, if the Death Cause could be merged with the Death event that would be great.

Re: Migrating notes in GEDCOM
Could I please have the second option, so Immigration appears in Notes similar to Military, thank you. I ran the Move Death Source Note to Cause Plugin & a scanned example under the All tab is attached, just so you can see the results. The + beside Death needs to be clicked to see the Cause. Cheers ...

Re: Migrating notes in GEDCOM
I've used Change Any Fact Tag to change CAUS as suggested. Using a person who both immigrated & had a military record this is where the information appears: Facts tab: the word "Immigrated" appears with no date. Notes tab: miscellaneous notes, & military notes (these seem correct) All tab: the word ...

Re: Migrating notes in GEDCOM
I found the offending UDFs in the All tab of the Property Box (with stars). This is from the GEDCOM from someone with CAUS: 0 @I8@ INDI 1 NAME William Martin /BROOKS/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 11 MAY 1892 2 PLAC Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand 2 SOUR @S1@ 1 DEAT 2 DATE 8 MAY 1971 2 PLAC Cornwall Hospi...

Re: Migrating notes in GEDCOM
The exception report highlights the fact that there are three tags causing problems: CAUS [cause of death] MILI [military] IMMI [immigration] This is an example: Record Type=Individual. Gedcom Id=I464. Record Number=464. l.6018 - INFO ONLY: Loaded uncategorised data (non-GEDCOM): "1 MILI @N163@" I'v...

Re: Migrating notes in GEDCOM
Yes, I had read the Knowledge Base, & run Generations Pre-Load Source Clean. I tested it on a small test GEDCOM but no difference. However, I did a FH search based on snippets of MILI & IMMI notes in the GEDCOM &, lo & behold, the text is in FH, but only in the Main tab. Unfortunately, this removes ...

Re: Migrating notes in GEDCOM
In the FH Records Window, under the Notes tab, there is only one note (miscellaneous) even though there are IMMIG and/or MILI notes in the GEDCOM.
It would be really appreciated if you could give me the link to this plugin.
Thank you very much for responding.

Migrating notes in GEDCOM
In my old program (Generations 8) I have Miscellaneous Notes, & two optional notes - MILI (military) & IMMIG (immigration). I created a GEDCOM (>20,000 people) & imported it into FH6. The Miscellaneous Notes are now under the Notes tab, but the others do not seem to have been imported. The GEDCOM fi...

Re: Military Service multiple Enlistments
Following on from the previous, I've noticed that the data that I have added to the Regiment fields, in each of the 3 Military Tabs, is moved to the Regiment fields under the first Military Tab when ever I restart the computer. I think that I have followed the suggestions, but just to be sure, here ...

Re: Military Service multiple Enlistments
Yes, that's sorted out the multiple entries (Regiment, Address, etc) within multiple Military Tabs. Thanks tatewise. The remaining issues are only to do with some fields (Wounded, Promoted, etc) which, when something is added, gets added to the same field in the other Military Tabs. It sounds like t...

Re: Military Service multiple Enlistments
Thank you very much, tatewise. I've now set up 3 Military Tabs, & renumbered/renamed them as you suggest, & it all looks good. I've been able to add different data into the same fields in the three tabs, except for the fields that are repeated, such as Regiment. These seem to only be able to hold on...

Re: Military Service multiple Enlistments
Various members of my family (including myself) have three separate stints in armed forces, including armies of different countries. I have created two extra Military tabs and renamed them 2 and 3 as suggested, but when I try to change the individual field names (Enlisted to Enlisted 2 for example) ...
