Thanks having the names in Blue does help to pick them out from the list.

Can children's names be shown in bold?
In Narrative Reports, Ancestors by generation there occurs a list of a couple's children: EG He and Amelia had the following Children: There then follows a list of their children. My question, is it possible to have the Children's names either in Bold or highlighted in some other way? The parents na...

Re: All relatives charts
Hi Bob, My circumstance is slightly different. Before they got too big I used to send trees in JPG format but got responses like 'its too small for me to read', I respond 'Zoom in to enlarge it'. They respond 'I don't know how to do that'. Grrr. So I thought that if viewers of the chart could see a ...

Re: All relatives charts
Hi Bob Ward, Following your suggestions I have been experimenting with the PDF generators settings to try and get the PDF file to open with resolution 1200, centred vertically and horizontally (ie in the middle) and at 100% magnification. I can get 3 of those at the same time but not all 4 at once. ...

Re: All relatives charts
Thanks for all of the replies. I am evaluating options: Regarding lines connecting duplicated people. I put on use family connectors where possible. Two families 1/2 of the chart apart get duplicated. Cousins far apart married in the 1840s, so far apart they probably did not know they were related. ...

Re: All relatives charts
Hi MIke, If I keep the chart large enough to read the coloured lines/ribbons go off the diagram, even if I scroll to the bottom of the diagram they continue below. If I zoom out far enough the full line is visible but the chart is too small to read. 2 attachments I save my charts as Whole diagram, A...

All relatives charts
I am attempting to create new versions of some All relative charts that I last updated on the 24 nov 22. I know they can be quite large so I do one per Grandparent. But now I am encountering two issues: 1. Some people are duplicated which is OK if it makes viewing the chart easier. But the duplicate...

Re: Imported Notes from TMG became FH7 Facts
Hi Mike, thanks, I have now seen a list of all imported notes well over 1000.
As this was just a tidying up excercise I think I will just leave things as they are and just tidy up as I encounter facts that should be notes.
Thanks again

Re: Imported Notes from TMG became FH7 Facts
Thanks Mike, It is complicated in that TMG had a generic Note Tag Type, which could be dated or undated. In many cases I used it to record facts such as a list of the ships my grandfather sailed on date destination etc. Other times I used it undated to record a note for posterity regarding my reason...

Re: Imported Notes from TMG became FH7 Facts
Thanks, being unfamiliar with writing FH7 plugins it will probably take longer to write than to change them manually as I encounter them.

Imported Notes from TMG became FH7 Facts
When I imported my TMG data to FH7 the import seems to have imported all TMG notes as undated FH7 Facts with Fact type Note. Event/Attribute = Note; Type = Event; Fact Set = TMG (Project) I have been converting them to Notes by copy the Fact Note and paste it as a new Note, then deleting the Fact No...

Re: Sentence sex is switched and repeated.
Thanks Mike, I think I am getting there. All the facts with nonsensical sentences were duplicated with one TMG version and the FH 7 Standard one Deleting the TMG version makes the FH7 version active. Sentence then makes sense. I have some Fact Type that have no Fact Set. <none> it won't let me delet...

Re: Sentence sex is switched and repeated.
Looking at Tools > Fact Types there are loads of them that are labeled TMG project. It seems to have imported lots of TMG templates and made a poor job of generating valid FH templates out of them. I assume that if I delete all of them I will get proper FH 7 code in their Place. Yes there are multip...

Re: Sentence sex is switched and repeated.
Thanks Mike. This is my first attempt at using narrative reports. The sentence template in the facts tab is as it was when I installed the software, I have not touched it. Is there a way to remove all instances of the sentance text in the facts tab, as if narraitve reports generate their own i clear...

Sentence sex is switched and repeated.
I notice that the Sentence shown in the Facts tab looks as below. {individual} was born {date} {place} son of <{%CUR_PRIN.~FATH>%}> <and> <{%CUR_PRIN.~MOTH>%}> $!& {individual} was born {date} {place} daughter of <{%CUR_PRIN.~FATH>%}> and <{%CUR_PRIN.~MOTH>%}> When this is printed in a narrative rep...

Re: Import from TMG
Mike, I have examined the Logs and found no problems. The right number of people (9704) and families (2670) have been imported, so no more missing branches. 23406 TMG (notes) facts/biographies imported. 30+ years of squirrelling data away. A preliminary check of the data look good as well. All of th...

Re: Import from TMG
Mike, Done as you suggest and have done another direct import and already without checking the data I see a difference. Last time the focus person was one of my GGGGrandmothers this time it is me. Before I did the import I ran the TMG validate file integrity utility and it reported no errors found. ...

Import from TMG
A few years ago I tried FH6 as a replacement for TMG. Sorry but could not get on with it, that's water under the bridge. A couple of weeks ago I bought a copy of FH7 and did, as recommended, a direct import from TMG, (TMG file has 9.5 k names and thousands of notes). It failed to import directly, mi...

Re: A potential Convert from TMG
Hi Mike, Thanks it is looking better all the time, I can usually pick up new S/W quite quickly so either I am getting old or FH has things squirreled away in places where I am not expecting them to be. Re: A potential Convert from TMG
Hi Shiriki and Ron, On the subject of returning to the last place I was at last session. I would rather not keep changing the focus person as this alters the path FH takes through the tree. Keeping myself as root person means I can zip up and down the tree in a known route. Until CP add the option t...

Re: A potential Convert from TMG
Mike, I have re run the import under 6.2.2 and all of the notes are now exactly where you said they should be. If it should have worked under 6.2.1 I have no explanation as to why it failed to import the notes. The import under 6.2.2 did seem to take a lot longer than under 6.2.1. Thousands of note ...
