Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
There are too many changes happening in quick succession to give a definitive retrospective answer. Usually, FH is good at updating displays to the latest templates, but without going back and recreating your starting conditions and going through step by step it is difficult to analyse what happene...

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
Yes, deleting the Witness-your-own-death tag would change the Sentence for those Death events. But, it apparently not only changed the Sentence but after a period of time the Sentence Template. Before the new Death Fact Template was proliferated, deleting the Witness-your-own-death tag only changed...

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
Mike, Something strange has happened. When I go through the database now all the death tags are reflecting the revised Death Fact Template. This was not true when I made the change, and it was not true the first few times that I reloaded the program after that. Is there some delay in proliferating a...

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
Mike: I just got back from a two-day trip out of town visiting our nation's largest "Civil War Show" where people buy and sell all kinds of artifacts from the U.S. Civil War (1861-65). I was more a looker than a buyer, but I did make some good contacts. Now, I'll get back to question at hand. What I...

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
Mike, a quick question before I proceed. Why is it then that when I change the sentence Death template that it becomes immediately functional in any new Death tags and also in the ones that I've added since I deleted the TMG Death Fact Type, but NOT in the Death tags that were created when the TMG D...

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
I believe that this is what you asked for, Mike, in your last post: https://www.drivehq.com/file/DFPublishFile.aspx/FileID10166080029/Keynerbh245v719/Fact Type List (showing Death tag).JPG As you can see there is only the Standard Death event left, after I stupidly deleted the TMG import one. Let me...

From my earlier post:
"And, yes, the Query does need your additional modification as I do have some other death witnesses in some cases. It's just the witness to ones own death that I need deleted."

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
Using the Plugin I do have a list of TMG imported project events, but Death is not listed, nor is Death list under TMG imported Attributes. It appears there is a no longer any references to TMG imported Death events, though they still appear in a person's fact list, of course.

Re: Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
Mike, thanks for your response, and yes you assume my intent correctly. I'm having trouble with the Change Any Fact plugin. I can't set it up following your instructions. For some reason, I can't get it out of the "Christening to Baptism" setting. When I change Source Tag Set to <Custom Events> (no ...

Two different Death tags: TMG import issue?
I've run into another issue related to my TMG import. It turns out that that I had two different Death tags. One was imported from TMG. The other was the FH standard one. I first discovered this when I noticed that if I made a change to a Fact Set definition for Death that the new definition was not...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
You need your King George III moment. Throw some tea into Lake Erie or something . . . then we can teach you to speak American! :| :? Thanks ya'll ... but I'm happy speaking Canadian. Eh! Maybe it's because you are still part of the Commonwealth. Need to break those cords that still tie you with Mother England. You need your King George III moment. Throw some tea into Lake Erie or something . . . then we can teach you to speak American!

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
I wonder if this is one of those UK English vs US English things, because 'aged 87' looks correct to me, whereas 'at age 87' sounds wrong! :) I was wondering that too, because it's just the opposite for me. I thought it was either our corruption of the mother tongue or it was a weird FH syntax thin...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
When I use {age range} it comes out in FH as "aged 87" rather than "age 87," which sounds strange to my ears (and eyes): "George William DENBOW died on 1 May 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, USA aged 87." However, in GedSite it looks better: "He died on 1 May 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahom...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
Thanks, Mike, I liked the sentence template, based on your suggestion: {%CUR_PRIN%} died {date} {place} <at the age of {=AgeAt(%CUR_PRIN%,%FACT.DATE%)}> It worked fine in FH. However, in GedSite it still renders: "He died on 1 May 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, USA, at the age of at age ...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
Well, Mike, I now have another template problem. This is probably a completely GedSite problem, but maybe its something that could be corrected by a modification of your export plugin. I don't know, but here's the issue: I'm using the following sentence template for a Death fact: {%CUR_PRIN%} died {...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
OK, that did seem to be the heart of the problem. I removed the <and {=Witness(%FACT%,"Principal 2")}> fragment from the global sentence template and the layout now looks much better. The paragraph word wraps properly. I still get the full repetition of the name instead of simply "He . . ." but it d...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
Thank you; that moves things forward. Please answer all the following questions. The Sentence Template for the 1st Note fact is local to the fact Sentence box rather than in the Tools > Fact Types... definition for the Note fact. Is that intentional? Hmm . . . I had thought that I had used the Tool...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
I will try to figure that out and get back to you. It's a mystery what is producing that repetitious text. The sentences is produced by several facts which are placed in a more or less chronological order. For starters here are a few details, perhaps not the granularity that you need. Here's the lis...

Re: Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
Thanks, Mike, and I can supply other specifics as I move along, but the one cited in post above is still a mystery to me. Why do I get in the second paragraph a repeat of the full name of Elmer Denbow and no word wrap. It should at that point be a sentence starting with "He . . . " If you look at th...

Need GEDCOM export suggestions for FH to GedSite
As mentioned in another thread, after experimenting with TNG, I've decided to focus all my genealogical web production energy on GedSite. I've been using Mike Tate's nice GEDCOM export plugin, for uploading to my GedSite site. For a few months recently I fiddled once again with trying to use TNG but...

Re: Fact Note Sentence issue (TMG Imported template)
Yes, as we have both said, all users have been affected by this change. When Carl said " it looks like I transferred to FH a little too early as the TMG import routine has now been further refined " I think he meant that he did his import from TMG before the import started using {inline-note} (in v...
