Viewing Find My past hints/links
There has been some discussion regarding what happens after you've accepted or rejected the FMP hints shown in the Focus Window. When you accept or reject them all for a person, the ability to view the hints is removed from the focus window for that person unless you change the global settings, whic...

FTM Gedcom import errors
I've now cured the Custom ID issue with much help from Mike. He also commented: "On inspecting your sample Gedcom, it exhibits some typical characteristics of an import from FTM. You will find that several Facts are 'missing' such as Address, Medical, Military, etc. So when the Custodian Ref. have b...

Re: Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
Success! More blanks than I thought, but not amongst the people I have actual paperwork for and none in my direct line, so that's OK.
Thanks Mike. What next?

Re: Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
Thanks again Mike, Yes, the plug in can overwrite what's already there in Custom ID. Ive found it now so I know where to look in future. I have absolutely no idea how they got there in the first place! Sorry about the fact name confusion. The details don't fit in the view width of the column and all...

Re: Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
Hi Mike, The option to undo definitely isn't there. If there was already a custom ID, then I didn't know about it & I can't find it now. I've extracted 4 records. All have Custodian References. Two of them might have Custom ID's already according to what you've said about the plug-in. All four of th...

Re: Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
Hi Mike, I'll have a look in more detail tomorrow, but when I tried your suggestion of Edit>Undo plug in updates, that option wasn't available under Edit, nor anywhere else I could see. Do you want the snippet from the actual gedcom or my imported FH database? I don't think I've opened a gedcom for ...

Re: Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
Just ran the plug in & got mixed results. Some individuals now have a Custom ID, most don't. All of them still have the original Custodian Reference in the Place field. There are quite a few individuals who didn't have a Custodian Reference to start with, so I wasn't expecting a complete list of Cus...

Re: Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
Many thanks Mike,
I've downloaded the plug-ins and will run them over the weekend. I'll let you know how I got on.

Custodian Reference Numbers - Custom ID
I imported a tree from Family Tree Maker. In that, I had created a custom fact in which I recorded a unique "Custodian Reference". Each person in the tree has a unique reference number which relates to a Custodian database I was using. Although I no longer use the Custodian database, I do use the re...
