Thank you Lorna.
Now it is clear to me. I should have seen that myself. Now I can continue with my queries.

Re: Query filter concatenation
Thanks Mike
that worked perfectly.
Why does the addif get new records where the exclude only works on the previous statements exclude?

Query filter concatenation
I am writing a query but I want to have two filters. I created a fact(attribute) called ResearchNote. I wanted to list only those that a not actually exists and then restrict by location so when I go somewhere too do research I can get a list of research items just for that location. I have tried th...

Re: fhGetDisplayText - Anomaly or my error
ColevalleyGirl. This is the code that I have. I hope I didn't make any typos pi = fhNewItemPtr() -- declare pointer pi:MoveToFirstRecord('INDI') while not pi:IsNull() do strPointerDescription = fhGetDisplayText(pi) while not pi:IsNull() do strPointerDescription = fhGetDisplayText(pi) strType = fhGet...

I am having a problem with my LUA learning effort I have the following script statements: if strType == 'BIRT' then strPointerDescription = fhGetDisplayText(pi) fhMessageBox(strPointerDescription) strPointerDescription = fhGetDisplayText(pi,'~.BIRT.PLAC', 'min') fhMessageBox(strPointerDescription) e...

Re: Counting Facts per person
Mike, Sometimes i can feel pretty dumb. That works well. But I may still want to add the rec numb so I can keep track of my edits in a spreadsheet. That is what I have done with the output from the plugin. I guess the logical next move would be for me to research lua and see if I can add the rec numb.

Re: Counting Facts per person
Bill,
That is the plugin I found as well. I am using FH 7.0.15 and it works as designed. I was hoping that the record number had been added to further clarify the people.

Counting Facts per person
I wanted to get a list by person of how many facts that they have so I can concentrate my edit work on people who probably need it. I found on this forum that Mike Tate in 2015 had a link to a plugin that was called "Count Facts Per Individual". I downloaded it and it provided almost everything that...

Exclude a line
I have had conversations with my brother and he would prefer not to have any information about him or his family available to anyone. I want to honor this but I don't see how in FH7. On a chart I can hide lines with a click or hide from the menu. But that must be done every time and it does not affe...

Re: Fact displays in FH7
Mike, Thank you I will add this to my notes so I won't forget. If I define a fact in RM with a description field then FH imports that as an attribute. If that same fact does not allow a description then FH imports that as an event. I cannot select in RM if a fact is an event or an attribute but it i...

Fact displays in FH7
This may belong in the Importing forum but I will ask here first. I believe I have asked this question before but I can't seem to find the answer either in my notes or in the knowledge base. When I import a project and look at the listing of facts for a particular person There are conventions in the...

Duplicate Birth Fact
I want to experiment with altering the birth fact and I was hoping that I could create a duplicate in my Custom Fact list. It will allow it but it is "eclipsed" and "disabled". Also the order of fact sets seems to put all my custom facts much lower than the standard fact set. How can I do this witho...

What is the Average rating?
What is the score? Some of the highest scores have been there since 2006
Some requests have been there since 2006. How do we interpret the possibility of them being completed or the function is now in FH?

Re: RTF formatting
Jane I followed your suggestion and finally got to trying the VBA approach. That did indeed remove the tables but the format of the remaining text would be more work to fix. The original format from FH using tables: RealEstateSell: Jul 15, 1974 (age 29) sold the Coventry house built in August 1971 f...

Re: RTF formatting
Jane, I was able to save the file as a PDF and then open the PDF and save as a DOC document. The text is then rendered without table but the pictures are still in tables but can be moved around and formatted. My export of the PDF to Word did a single page so this may not be the easiest A several ste...

Re: RTF formatting
Victor - I was using the method you describe but the narrative report seems to always be formatted with tables even after opening them in word. I don't think there is a way to convert the tables to the native word format except one by one. There are perhaps 8 - 10 tables per page and hundreds of pag...

RTF formatting
I was trying to format a narrative report and place the pictures correctly. I found that the entire report is formatted using tables. The images cannot be placed like a normal word document but must be manually altered creating new cells etc, and still not able to format like a normal word document....

Re: Color coding chart
Lorna - Thank you for that suggestion.
It seems to work easier than my method.
Although once I create a chart I can't change the type after that?
I have perhaps too many of these conditions so I will need to create many custom diagrams to accommodate my variations.

Color coding chart
I have created several facts that I use as flags. (only way to save on import) when I create a chart I customize the chart based on the existence of a particular fact/flag. On one I created a medical history fact and in the chart I can map a particular medical condition based on what is contained in...

Re: Import of shared persons
Mike - Thank you for all your work. you say you are working on a plugin to change facts. This sounds like something that I could benefit from and will try as soon as is available. I will also run some tests to see if the change from an event to an attribute will change what FH does even though the d...

Import of shared persons
Exchanging data between RootsMagic V7 and FamiyHistorian V 7.0.7 sometimes hits a few bumps along the way. FH has done a wonderful job of trying to be compatible with other vendors. I don’t export any of the RM extra Details (RM specific). I have also duplicated all my customizations (facts, etc) of...
