Re: How can I map individuals from a Named List?

Thank you for the help. I ended up creating a query for all individuals born before 1860 and selected the desired information (places) in columns. Now I am having some difficulty figuring out how to map from this query. Looking at the Help menu, there should be a "Map Places for ...." somewhere, but...

How can I map individuals from a Named List?

I am trying to identify a settlement pattern based on records. I have the families in a Named List. I could add, if need be, the individuals from these families to ..... another Named List?
How could I map the individuals and/or families?

Re: Link Media files

Thanks,
I am working through the possibilities to get what I want. Given the material I am working with, it's all trial and error. I appreciate your feedback.

Link Media files

I have started a new project to see what I could and couldn't do. I have successfully added Country Hungary and 1856 Census in template. I am using 2 different Census sources for same information: 1. Copy of original Hungarian records in LDS library (now online). These are in large files and cover b...

Re: add country (Hungary) to all AS templates

OK thanks. I will try census grid template. I presume the same system applies to birth records, etc.
BTW, Hungary has census going back at least to 18th century.
I know you focus on UK, etc., but wouln't a drop-down menu of countries be possible? Just a thought.

Re: From Media to Source

I was afraid, you'd say that. Did exactly that with one death record and oh my! But it works a lot better.
Thanks.

From Media to Source

Based on a previous question, I realize that most of my original documents have been entered as "media". Of course, now I know that they should have been entered as "source". What would be the easiest or quickest way of moving the items (lots of them) from media to source. I presume that I will add ...

Re: Media "Create Link" question

Thank you, that is really helpful.
It's also great that I can create source records as I view media.
So much to learn! But great software.

Media "Create Link" question

In official records, e.g. birth, death, etc. I would like to link to Individual, Place, and Source at the same time.
The "Create Link" drop down box doesn't seem to allow for multiple selections. Is there any way around this limitation?
Thanks

Re: Special characters

In FH, when I hold down a key, e.g. "e" I can choose from è, é, ë, etc. (This works as I am writing this as well.)

While using AS, this process doesn't work. I haven't tried anything else. I would love to be able to use the same process, because it is really easy.

Special characters

I am using FH 6.0.4 running on Win 7 under Parallels on a MacBook Pro. In FH there is no problem using special characters (family is Hungarian, lots of special characters). I installed and started using AS 5.0, but cannot seem to be able to use special characters. Since names with special characters...

Re: Duplicate Individuals

Thanks Mike.
Decided to try the easy way: used rename to change underline to space. To my surprise, worked like a charm.
Great plugin; saved me tons of time. I combined several branches of my family tree and there are tons of duplicates. Thanks again.

I am a newbiw to FH. Have combined a number of separate trees and would like to run for Duplicate Individuals.

When I "run" I get the following message:
"Script Header: Find_Duplicate_Individuals@Title differs from Filename"

Help please.

Re: Creating a Research to Do List

Hello,

I am a newbie to FH. I have version 6.0.4 running in Win 7. I have successfully created a To Do tab in the Property Box, but I cannot enter any text. It's just a blank, grey box. Any suggestions? Thanks
