Re: Unsupported browser for FindMyPast matches

Just tried deleting cooking but get same problem.
I shall probably upgrade when it is less busy at home as I don't usually get too much time using Family Historian.

Re: Unsupported browser for FindMyPast matches

If I change settings to open external web browser it opens Microsoft Edge which works ok. On further checking I closed the browser window and went through process again and the following message appeared - {"statusCode":400,"error":"Bad Request","message":"Invalid cookie header"} I do seem to rememb...

Unsupported browser for FindMyPast matches

When I select FindMyPast hints on both a Windows10 PC and Windows 11 Laptop I get "You are using an unsupported browser" "Download Microsoft Edge" Both machines have Microsoft Edge as Default browser. This problem has arisen recently but I don't know when. I can't use the browser window to Login to ...

Re: Removing copy of Family Historian 6 from laptop

Many thanks for reply. I already have it on a desktop PC as well so want to keep to two copies. I unlinked OneDrive on old laptop and changed folder name which seems to have changed a few things as well as taking Family Historian out of the programs list so will have to do things another way. As the...

Re: Birth Reg Fact to Birth Fact

I've just remembered a suggestion by John Hanson at a SOG talk about Family Historian and tried it. It takes a bit of time but works. Select secondary birth date and if it is a detail you want to keep, Copy the Citation for that secondary date. Select main date and paste the copied citation. Then de...

Re: Birth Reg Fact to Birth Fact

I started in 1993 and at the first Family History Show in London it was suggested that I collect all references to my surname and not pass them by. I guess they were perhaps thinking in Sussex where my oldest ancestor lived and it grew from there. It obviously became a bit of a One Name Study but I ...

Re: Birth Reg Fact to Birth Fact

I have collected ALL births marriages and deaths for my surname totalling several thousand so individually changing them would be a massive task. I guess what I really want is to change Birth Reg to Birth if there is no other date in Birth field or replace date if only year with no prefix is present...

Re: Birth Reg Fact to Birth Fact

You are obviously correct saying that if you get duplicate Birth Events then their order is determined by their Dates and if I have just a circa. year e.g. c.1863 it would come before Mar 1863. How would I add a Birth Event with Place and Date Range for each person with a Birth Reg or indeed move th...

Re: Birth Reg Fact to Birth Fact

I did think of that. Perhaps I just needed a jog as I forgot that if I have two Birth Facts I can change the order of them and I guess that will solve any duplicate problems. Thanks

Birth Reg Fact to Birth Fact

When I transferred by data from TMG to Family Historian all my Birth Reg facts stayed as Birth Reg facts. (The same for marriage and death). Is there a way of displaying these facts in the Focus window or anywhere else that these Facts would be displayed where there is no other Birth Fact for example.

Import creates multiple copy of Exhibits/Media

This is a previous topic but I can not find any answer. When I Import from TMG to Family Historian 6.0.2 it creates multiple copies of some of my Exhibits to Media.

Also Some sources are duplicated.

Re: V6 Fails on TMG direct import

I think it's a shame that the free trial can not be done on the latest version for a proper assessment. I guess I will have to do it with the Sample Project.

Re: V6 Fails on TMG direct import

I have just downloaded V6 of Family Historian. Importing from TMG v8.08 failed for me as well as step 10 witnesses.

In case anyone asks TMG Sample project imported ok and tag types in my own database are standard.
