Re: Show Project Statistics updated plugin
Just to add my thanks to Mike Tate for his amazingly clear instructions (as always). I too was unable to find the buttons on the bottom of this plugin but, by following the above, all was revealed. As there are 2858 results in my Report I'm now extremely busy, as you can imagine!!

Re: Records Window - Notes Links
Thanks for these suggestions, Mike. Very few of the unlinked notes have an "updated" date at all & the 3 that do are from 2015. Most of the entries seem to be addresses, so I am hoping I can find the owner by searching for the text. The content is generally recognisable as coming from my earliest re...

Re: Records Window - Notes Links
Several years on I had the same query, for which I am grateful to you all for the answer. My only problem is - I seem to have 117 Notes in the Notes tab of the Records Window which have zero links. is there any way of finding out where these came from or to who/what they should belong? All advice gr...

Re: FT Analyzer
I have tried to contact the FTA developer(s) via their issues page but pressing "submit" results in a box that says "working....." & has been so doing for well over an hour now. Someone else seems to be having the same problem - it comes up with "1939 isn't a supported census date". Any help would b...

Re: FT Analyzer
Some years later, FT Analyser has been updated, with support (it says) for the 1939 Register. ..... does anyone know what "fact" FT Analyser is looking for with respect to the 1939 Register? It doesn't seem to like me calling it a census but, although I appreciate it isn't, I don't really know what ...

Re: FH V6.2 FMP Hints and Gedcom Size
After a busy weekend I've tried the User Credentials Export/ Import & am delighted to report success! FMP seemed to have a bit of a problem with its website yesterday, though.
Many thanks for all your help, Mike!

Re: FH V6.2 FMP Hints and Gedcom Size
Hello Mike, again. Yes, I mean a USB memory stick & no, it's not the only copy - the whole stick is backed up to two separate hard drives, plus each Project is backed up every time I open/close it to the hard drive of whichever computer I'm using at the time and the gedcoms are additionally saved to...

Re: FH V6.2 FMP Hints and Gedcom Size
Thanks for the clarification, Mike, that's very helpful. I have another query now, though - as well as using FH on the Vista desktop I use it on a laptop with Win7 & keep the FH Projects on a dongle. Now that I have upgraded the programme on the laptop as well (& incidentally the Web Search window w...

FH V6.2 FMP Hints and Gedcom Size
I have just upgraded from v5 to v6 & then to 6.2 & have been exploring the hints system. I find that if I open the hint in the Web Search window, the buttons to accept or reject do not work. However, if I open the same hint in a browser window, it works fine. Is it me, is it because I use Vista or i...

Re: Creating Surname sort in a fact query
"You say you want "a fact query for burials to have a hidden "Surname" column to sort on". In which case =FactOwner(%FACT%,1,MALES_FIRST) with Sort: Ascending and Type: Hidden (or perhaps Buddy)." I tried this FactOwner function in a query but it displays the people in alphabetical order of their fi...

Timeline
Is there any way of creating a diagrammatic timeline in Family Historian? When I first started I used to use Family Tree Maker & that had a facility to draw a diagram across the page between two specified years & then show in long thin boxes the lifespan of everyone in the tree who was alive during ...

Re: Flags and Diagrams
Many thanks for that, I'll try what you suggest. I do have a Box backup place in the cloud but it won't upload folders, so I just upload the basic gedcom. Other media gets backed up to two separate hard disks elsewhere. I had a lot of trouble with computers dying, hence I no longer keep anything val...

Re: Flags and Diagrams
Hello & I wonder if you can help me too? I read all the foregoing with interest - but I am not sure how to apply it to my own situation. I keep all my data, FHProject folders, media etc on a removable drive & use my laptop or my desktop computer, with that drive plugged in wherever I happen to be. S...
