Decipher a parish record entry

Hi, Can someone please decipher an entry on a parish record please. It's taken from a badly scratched microfilm and the style of writing is not easy for me to read. I'm particularly interested in the line that is marked with a *. http://www.wyerd.co.uk/images/Cadeby_record.jpg Many thanks, David. ID...

I use .png generated by FH for diagrams as I find they are a better quality than the .jpg ones.HTH
Thanks. I'll give that a go - strange as it used to work with IE6 and I think IE7 as well without any problems.

IE8 not displaying EMF file information

When I created my website I used EMF files for all my family tree pictures that Family Historian created. All previous versions of IE displayed them correctly, but all I get in IE8 is a red cross. See http://www.wyerd.co.uk/fhpublic/toc1.html Should I be using a different format now or is there an i...

Hi All,

My grandmother died in Majorca in 1979. Does anyone know how I go about obtaining her death certificate.

Many thanks for any help and advice.

US Immigration entry query

Thanks for the suggestions. Strange thing is that I've found his & wife's US Census entries in 1910 & '20, but nothing for '30.

US Immigration entry query

Does anyone know why there is a date stamp of July 12 1938 on William Henry Inman's 1903 entry into the US, and what does the writing next to it mean?

Thanks,
David.

Employee Civil Service records

A number of my relatives worked in numerous government departments during the beginning of the 1900's. Is it possible to view their records & where are they stored?

Thanks,

Step mother/daughter query

When an ancestor of mine married in 1894, she also adopted his 6 year old daughter - his first wife died 2 years previously. As far as I can tell, there was no formal adoption, so how should I enter this into FH and how do I indicate this step mother/daughter relationship on reports and diagrams? Th...

That's it! Took some finding though. I'm still amazed how powerful this package is. Well worth it.

I have a problem now with the diagram as it's displaying the very long signature next to the text. Is there a way of reducing the size of signature image of this entry?

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply Jane!

I wouldn't need to create a source record? Just insert a link to the picture file?

Ancestors Signatures

I have my grandfathers Birthday Book, where he listed his friends & relatives birthdays. He asked them to enter their name next to the appropriate day, so I have a record of their signature, including my G-G-grandfathers. My question is, how do I record this in FHV3? I've scanned each page where an ...

How do I find a relative that may be alive?

Thanks for the tips. It's unfortunate that the surname is Cook!

I'm going through the marriage index at the moment. Hopefully I'll find something there.

How do I find a relative that may be alive?

From the Ancestry.co.uk Birth index, I've found a relative that was born in 1937 in Sheffield. His mother died in 1988 and lived near Worksop. How do I go about tracking him down? As I live near Portsmouth, I don't plan on making a trip up there! I'd be very grateful on any hints/tips. Thanks. ID:1461
