Tracing Family tree without certificates
We went down a wrong line completely for one person because we didn't get their marriage certificate. When we eventually did, we realised that the wife had been married before and therefore what we thought was her maiden name, was in fact her name from her first marriage and we'd gone down quite a w...

iphone app
Having just become the proud owner of an iphone, you know what would be really cool? An app whereby you can import a gedcom file so you can take your family tree with you. Very useful for trips to records offices etc. If it synced with FH, then even better!

GenesReunited Hot Matches
Great articles but I find that the 'Dont show me these again' option doesn't seem to work. I still get well established contacts popping up with each new batch.

That's annoying, but thanks for replying.

Occupations in the wrong order
Hello, As I've entered census information for someone, not in consecutive years, it's displays the most recent occupation in the main window, rather than the most recent. So for example because I entered census information for someone when they were a child, after some others, so it says that they'r...

information about places
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for ways of incorporating information about a place.
I thought it would be nice to include descriptions from things like White's Directory about villages where my ancestors come from. But I'm not sure of the best way of doing this.
Thanks

On many certificates I've seen that the person is obviously illiterate because they've signed with a cross and it says 'the mark of...'
I wondered whether it would be interesting to note this in an individual's record.
What would be the best way of doing this?
Thanks

what does QUAY mean?
Just starting to get to grips with FH. I've brought in my gedcom file from another program and I've noticed that all my existing sources have got an attribute called QUAY. New sources that I've added in FH don't. I was just wondering what it meant?
Thanks
