Re: Website Creation

Mike I followed more closely (I think!), your instructions. Aside from a difference in fonts and colours (which I can't see has any bearing on the output), everything seemed to match but some of the sources were still being omitted on the creation of the website. As frustrating as it was, I decided ...

Re: Website Creation

I've just done a further check and my FH Website project does not include those sources, yet the principal project does. I must, therefore, be deleting them as part of the website creation, but I cannot see where. As I said earlier, it is not all the sources that have been excluded This picture show...

Re: Website Creation

Mike Here is a screen shot of "sources" for the Family Group Sheet. That for the Individual Summary Report is the same. I also attach an extract from an individual narrative report (showing 2 sources, although this, in itself, is deficient) and from the created website showing only one source. FGS S...

Website Creation

I have just updated my website from within FH7 (it's something I do twice a year...ish). All seems ok, except Some of the sources have not been published. One in particular is reference to the 1921 census. It is there in my FH project. I don't understand why it doesn't upload, nor can I see how to i...

Re: Query to exclude non relatives

I used

Exclude unless =IsRelativeOf( FileRoot(), %INDI% ) is true.

It gave the answer I wanted; when I have a spare 5, I might try the second option and see what happens

Query to exclude non relatives

I have written a query to summarise those individuals for whom a 1939 Census/War Record entry should be recorded, but I haven't marked it as such. The query runs perfectly but includes individuals who have no relationship to root. I want to add a condition to exclude this group but can't find the ri...

Website Creation

I've been playing around with my (updated) website, principally colours and fonts. I thought I'd got it exactly as I wanted (until I change my mind) but one thing is bugging me. Within an individual's details, the notes are present. However, the notes are then repeated in a separate "subsection" ( i...

Re: FH7 and mouse

When viewing a particular record, with or without ancestors or descendants. Not sure what it is called but it isn't the maps window. Not using a touch screen device. @uktony, Are you seeing this behaviour throughout the software or in a specific window/windows? Are you using a 'touch screen' device?...

Thanks both

For the moment, I am undergoing "mouse re-training"

Clicking anywhere on the screen first does work, I just need to get used to it

FH7 and mouse

I'm struggling (not really the right word, but you know what I mean) with the fact that the wheel on my mouse now acts as a zoom in/out tool. In V6.2 and prior it acted as an up/down command. I've looked in the guide and also the mouse settings but can't find anything to suggest how to change it. An...

Re: Census Dates

Following this excellent thread, I wonder if it is possible for AS to add an Enumeration Date to each AS Census entry page, somehow linked to the census date. This would for the user to input. I further wonder if the individual's age could then be linked to this second date. Looking at some of the e...

Re: FTP Website Manager

I'm pleased about that

Nearly 5 hours in and I have uploaded only a third of the files.

Perhaps I need to change my broadband provider.

Jane

I think we have lift off.

When I run the plug in I get the "change settings" dialogue box - not something I've got as far as before.

If only I could remember the settings (will have to check when I get home!)

Anyway, looking good, so thank you.

Re: FTP Website Manager

Thanks Jane I deleted the folders socket and md5 and a couple of files ending in .lua and have reinstalled the plugin. FTP Website Manager

I have just downloaded this plug in. On first run, as expected, it prompted me to download various other modules. Clearly not everything worked (though I must admit I wasn't paying much attention at the time) as I now get this error when trying to run the plugin. I have deleted and reinstalled, to n...

(Another) Query question

Thanks Mike

That worked in a treat, in that I'm now getting some, but not all, of the Canadian census entries.

Obviously some data errors somewhere.

(Another) Query question

Hi I have recently discovered icons! I am trying to distinguish between those who have an 1891 census entry in E&W and those with an 1891 entry in Canada. The standard 1891 query works fine (year=1891) but, despite searching the FHUG help, I can't see how (best) to adapt it to reflect only Canada, w...

Why oh Why oh Why.......

Gerry

I think you're right - as I come across later census entries, they will go in via AS. I will then amend the existing entries, again via AS, overwriting the existing entry. It will be a lengthy process but will keep me out of mischief.
