Lost Licence Issues

For the benefit of people in a similar situation to my own I thought it was reporting the outcome of my communication with support at Family Historian. I'm pleased to be able to say that they were able to solve my problem by providing a credit coupon to the value of my upgrade against the purchase o...

Lost Licence Issues

Thanks Jane, I'll try that route...

Before reading your reply I'd had a brain wave of my own and checked around - it is still possible to purchase FH V3.0 and at a discounted price so perhaps that would be a fall back.

Lost Licence Issues

After several years of happily using Family Historian and migrating from V2 series via V3 to V4 last year, I have taken the bold step of building a new computer. I'm now in the process of migrating my software and data etc over. Next on the list today was Family Historian 4.02 for which I'd still go...

Gedcom Census v2.4 by Nick Walker

Given that Gedcom Census is now at version 6.06 dating from August 2008 isn't it time that this article relating to version 2.4 dating from 2004 was retired and removed - together with the corresponding link from the 'Links' page? Happily the text and links on the 'Downloads' page are referring to t...

Bulk Deletion of Census Event Note field

Thanks once again to both Jane and Peter for another set of excellent ideas - I went with Peter's suggestion - thereby learning about using both Fact Queries and Functions! This time the query was able to identify no fewer than 888 superfluous Notes fields and delete them all at a stroke! The latest...

Bulk Deletion of Census Event Note field

Firstly let me express my appreciation for the quality and timeliness of all the responses to my query. Again in my defence let me add that I have already put the recommended book 'Getting the Most From Family Historian 4' on my Christmas list! As soon as I saw it was coming out in print I know that...

Bulk Deletion of Census Event Note field

Apologies in advance if this has been asked & answered before but I cannot find a similar question so here goes. I have made extensive use of the excellent GedCom Census tool but in the past have opted to use the facility to Copy the source text (of the census record) into the Note field of the cens...

Census By Year (V3) amp; GedCom Census

Jane & Nick, Of course you are correct in your interpretations of what is going on here - and the fact that I have reversed the situation as to what GedCom is recording with what my earlier software must have created. Looking on the positive side I can now use the Census by Year query not only to hi...

Census By Year (V3) amp; GedCom Census

I've been trying out the new Census By Year (V3)query and am very impressed with the helpful output. Then I noticed that some census records did not appear in the report although they are clearly in the database. Upon investigation I realise that older census data copied from other packages or enter...
