Thank you for your prompt reply. We will get V7 installed and I will look at the sample project as advised. Then I will come back and ask for some more help.

Re: upgrading
Thank you for your prompt reply. I tried downloading the upgrade but it didn't do anything for me. My husband says he will treat me to a V7 to prevent future problems. I have also posted another message asking if any data conversion from 2 to 7 is completely automatic.

upgrading
I have a very old version of FH. version 2.1.8. When I loaded it on my last laptop I was told to upgrade to 2.3.5.
I now have a new laptop but don't seem to be able to download 2.3.5.
Any idea what I should do now?

saving a formatted tree
I have FH2.3 and am just at the stage of supplying printed family trees to other members of the family. I have created a tree which required a fair amount of formatting but find I cannot save it formatted and so on the next occasion I want to do some work on it I have to format it again. Is it pos...

Removing images from individual summary reports
Thank you, the pictures tab was the one that worked. All the fields are now 0. I will now know where to go should I decide I do need to put any images on in the future. Thanks

Removing images from individual summary reports
I have FH2.3. Many years ago I set it up to allow linked images e.g. marriage certificiates to be shown on the individual summary reports. I now wish to remove these from the report sheets. However I do want the images to still be linked to the records.

Individual Summary Report
Thank you for your replies. When it comes to the census ages I will make a comment under notes if different from the calculated age. As John Gasson suggested I can turn off the estimated age when printing the reports. The marriage age section is also much clearer to me, thanks again.

Individual Summary Report
Hello, I have got FH2.3.5. When I print an individual summary report I find that the ages under the marriage section, including those of census, do not show an exact age but might say 51-52, whereas I had typed in 51. This does not happen when there is a linked gedcom census. The ages are as typed...

I have two Edwards, with the same surname, born in the same village within a couple of months of each. I have finally found that the records for one Edward belong to the other one, including wife, children, census etc. The only difference being their parents and some early census records. I have ...

Thanks, worked brilliantly. I did find that when I had transferred one of the children over the others had gone as well.

Please can someone help me, I find that I have linked a group of siblings to one of the brothers instead of the father. What is the easiest way of correcting this?

Backups of linked objects
When the zip is created for backup purposes does it do the linked objects as well? The reason I am asking this is because I have lots of zipped up folders that windows says are blocked.

Combining duplicate records.
I have created two records for the same person. The lady in question appears in her own right on the maternal and paternal side of the family (two sisters married two brothers). How do I amalgamate the records or is it just deleting one and typing in records afresh into the one left?

I have just downloaded and installed the software. When I try to save an entry, it pops a box saying that it couldn't take a backup to the install folder. The file is not in use by anything else, I have oodles of disc space, so it looks as though it's a problem with permissions. My user account does...
