Courses for Family Historian
It's a pity all courses are in London. I live in the north west of England and it would cost a fortune to get to London and stay over at least two nights, in order to attend at course. Why not hold a course further north? Perhaps you could do a survey to see how many people were interested and make ...

media files
Can someone please explain to me the best way to attach media files to individuals? Currently I am attaching them to Facts, eg. adding the image of a census form to a census entry. However, the media does not seem to be there when I go from the Facts tab to the Multimedia tab in the focus view - thi...

My History Family Historian Courses in Yorkshire
Are you going to present any more courses in the North (North West England would be great)?
My name will be on the list provided I'm not on holiday, as I am for the October courses.
Thanks
Sue

Link outline on media items
When clicking on a person's name on the linked records side of the media window, would it be possible to make the link outline thicker on the media item. Currently you can barely see an outline at all. I have attached a file so that you can see the problem, ie. Harry Knowles is outlined but you can...

I have both Family Tree Maker 2009 and FH3 & decided to buy the full new version of FH4 rather than have the hassle of upgrade. I far prefer FH4 and have even uninstalled FTM 2009 because I didn't like it, even though it interacts with Ancestry.co.uk. FTM had the ability to log locations but do you...

links to internet
Would it be possible to follow the way of Family Tree Maker, ie. when one uses the ascendants/descendants tabs, to be able to see when one has some matches on Ancestry.co.uk/Ancestry.com. This only happens of course of you are a member of Ancestry and as the product and Ancestry are in league with ...

Thanks Jane, as an ex programmer this sort of thing irks me. Either have it available or remove it.

V4 - is it a bug?
Duhhhh I forgot about the List Order button on the Fact list. So they do work ok.
However, the up/down arrows definitely don't work for the links/notes on the multimedia screen. The worked in V3 but not V4.

V4 - is it a bug?
I'm working with the trial version of V4 and using the Multimedia Records screen. At the bottom left there are link records & notes, ie. to link records to media on the right. Unfortunately, I can't get the re-order arrows (up or down) to work. Also, on the individual record, facts list - the arrows...

Thanks Jane, at least I now get 3 rows of 4 photo's on the individual page, below my husbands details and above mine. Not ideal because there is loads of space to the right that could be filled up with photo's. Your suggestion has not made any difference to the The first generation photo arrangement...

I am using the installation settings except that I have said to show up to 10 photos. I've attached a clip of the Ancestors of Susan Patricia Bonnington page and as you can see, the photo's are listed down. When viewing a person via the Index page, the photo's are of Susan (me actually) are listed d...

I have used FH to create an internet site but don't like how the photographs are displayed one underneath each other. Can anyone tell me, is there a setting that I need to consider to get them to line up across the page instead of down. I've tried all sorts but nothing seems to make any difference. ...

Ability to change event
I would love to be able to change an event using a drop down list. For example, I have many people who have the 'Resident' event attributed to them but I have now found out how to make a new event, ie. Living with Parents, and I want to change all 'resident' events to Living with Parents, where appr...

It would be good to have the ability to copy ALL entries in the events list, not just those with a red dot. For example, I have a family event concerning residence that I could do with being able to copy and paste because our family have moved around quite a lot and I get sick of having to click the...

Thanks for the note about GEDmill. I have downloaded and tried out the freebie. However, I still stand by my request because I don't feel inclined to spending more money on 3rd party programs when the facility could be added to FH. I hope to put the result of the freebie onto my website very soon. R...

Multimedia screen fields
Hi, I can see the configure columns option in the records list and have used it, but it's not an option on the multimedia list, ie. there are only two sort options.
Is this my installation do you think?

Does anyone know how to obtain a report that displays all the multimedia for a given person. Or even a report for all individuals showing their associated multimedia?

It would be really good to have one's Family Tree diagram as part of the web facility. Also, have each box clickable and linked to the individual's report.
