Can I put in a plug for FreeCEN, the cousin of FreeBMD?  Not only is it Free(surprisingly), but is more fully searchable than some Census databases I could mention, and sometimes seems to have more accurate transcriptions.  It does rely, though, on volunteers to transcribe the handwritten census ret...

Is there an option for giving details of a cremation rather than a burial? At the moment narrative reports for someone who was cremated come out reading slightly oddly.

Another handwriting problem

The first part means 'Wife of ditto',in other words, look at her husband's occupation, then there's an ampersand (ie '&'), and then 'Dame School'
