need help to clarify correct husband
I've just looked her up on the 1841 census and Sarah and John Coxhead are in Little Compton with Dinah Mace with them. So to me it definitely sounds like your Sarah Mace did marry John Coxhead and Dinah must be a daughter to one of Sarah's siblings. If IGI entries only give a first name for the moth...

Guardian Review
The Guardian on Saturday had a supplement on Family History. I haven't finished reading it all yet, but there are some interesting articles in it and some useful websites. In particular for me, there's an interesting section on old photos and a link to look up old photographers, which might help me ...

Another death to decipher
Thanks all, I think you're right about oedema. I just couldn't quite decide as there's a strange blob above the m, which made me think the letter before it might be an i And I also couldn't decide whether the second letter was an e or a c, but I'd failed to find any other likely word in the medical ...

Another death to decipher
Hello all, Can you help me decipher the last word on this cause of death? I know the first words are Epilepsy and cerebral, but not sure of the last one. He died in hospital and I have heard some tales of how he ended up there, but rather than bias you in the deciphering I'll let you all have a go a...

Census as family and GedCom Census
As yet, I've not downloaded GedCom census, but am now contemplating whether to start using it as everyone gives it rave reviews. What I am dithering about is how it will fit in with my own method of recording census details. I have two main questions that I need answers to before I decide to start u...

GenesReunited Hot Matches
Chris, Thanks for explaining the process for us. I now understand why some of my contacts with whom I had lots of matches weren't coming up on the list for quite some time. My maternal grandparents are a Brown and Smith, so you can imagine my hot matches list is full of poor contacts. When I next do...

Tribal Pages and other ways of publishing tree onl
Has anyone used tribalpages.com for sharing their family tree with others? I've only just come across it today and wondered if what are the pros and cons. They claim in the privacy statement never to sell your data. You seem to be able to decide whether your tree shows in the search facility or is k...

Query output sorted by multiple columns
Thanks for that reminder Jane - efficient as always!
[smile]
I've just gone back and fiddled with my query, and have added in some hidden columns so that it sorts in the sequence I want. I'm quite pleased with it, so might be posting into the query store sometime soon.

Query output sorted by multiple columns
I often want to sort queries outputs by more than one column. Current default assumes that if more than one column is set to sort, it sorts by the first output column then the second. I want to be able to sort by example column 4 then column 1 then column 2 (I know this is available in Excel, but I ...
