Re: Move FH to new PC with individual records kept personalised
Hi Mark, I used this one Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin V3.5 I tried to follow the instructions but it just didn't work when I got to the new computer. I can't describe any details but it is rather complicated when you are getting on in years. So as it was only the Individual sc...

Move FH to new PC with individual records kept personalised
I want to move my FH 7 to a new computer, I can move either by import/export or restore but each time I lose the settings I have made to the individual records window.
Is there a way to move the complete project or gedcom keeping all my settings or do I have to make them again?

Re: Error while unpacking program, code LP6. Please report to author.
I regularily back up all my stuff to external drives so no worries there. The problem with the C Drive seemed to be caused when I was using a USB stick, file explorer crashed and when I rebooted yesterday it did a repair, but it also did another repair today when I rebooted again after problems load...

Re: Error while unpacking program, code LP6. Please report to author.
Thanks all for your replies, however I did a reboot and it showed an error on Drive C which it then repaired.
Now I can open FH once again.
Sorry I panicked and posted too soon before checking other things.
Thanks again for your input.

Adding Children
Right, understand now, hadn't used the tab key before, still think it isn't much help, but have now tried the Focus window method and it certainly helps. Shame there isn't a simple possible merges option as I have just loaded my GEDCOM file back into FTM2005 and ran the possible merges option and fo...

Adding Children
Thanks for the reply Jane, not sure what you mean by ' if you tab forward from the birth date to the Blue arrow you can then press enter to jump to the Property box for the child' However I understand the focus window option, might give that a try. Just another quick question, I haven't found any qu...

Adding Children
When adding a child in the property box I add name, sex and date of birth but find it frustrating that I have to then select the person to add where born, why cant this be shown when adding the child details in first view, or am I missing something here?

Missing Multimedia Files
I forgot to mention that all my media is installed in quite a few sub folders under different surnames, surely I haven't got to re-map each file into its correct folder?
Can you change the 'Current Tree File' location so that it sees my existing file structure?
