FH Projects

I need to display 2 FH Projects on my computer at the same time in the same way that you can have 2 Word Documents open and switch between them. Is this possible in any way?
The minute I open a 2nd project, the display opens with that and closes the original. Thanks for considering.

Creating gedcom files from diagrams

Is there an easy way to create a gedcom file from an ancestral diagram? I can easily create a diagram on screen which has all the records I wish to share with another researcher but how can I send it to them? I am aware of the split tree helper but it would mean a tremendous amount of deleting to ar...

Speculation

I'll need to read up on flags but wouldn't it be a lot simpler just to have a tick box on the gedcom import which would automatically merge it to the family tree in a differnt colour/font? Or am I missing something?

Speculation

I recently found an extension to my family tree on Ancestry but cannot be sure of the accuracy of all the details until I check them out. I opened a new project to store these details but I wondered if it was possible to add them to my original tree, perhaps in a different colour or fainter font and...

Thanks Jane. This may help explain my problem: http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/ID.PNG The 203 refers to the custom ID number of the original paper source. http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/No_ID.PNG This one doesn't have a number although it refers back to the original paper source...

Tearing my hair out here [mad] I'm using v4 and trying to sort out my sources which have been imported from another program. In the source pane some citations have a custom ID, designated by the letter C, others don't. The custom ID refers to the numerical identifier of the original record and I wan...

I'm running v4 under Windows 7 32bit. If I upgrade to 64bit are there any compatibility problems?

Thanks everyone, got it working. Yes Generations does transfer sources but mine are a bit of a mess and I want to sort them out rather than transfer.

I have just migrated from Generations Family Tree and all my records transferred successfully minus sources. So, I now have to reconcile these sources in Family Historian. I have looked at the manual but that seems to assume that you are entering details in a new record from, say, a birth cert. I of...
