Re: Surname Prepositions / Prefix
Personally I'd prefer to keep a family tree compliant with the GEDCOM standard, particularly to export the data into other programs. In this case it's hard because of two reasons: The GEDCOM 5.5.1 specification is not perfectly clear on the role of name pieces, including SPFX, the "surname pref...

Re: How to keep Saved Chart while merge 2 projects?
David
thanks for the suggestion: it could be perfect, but in my real research there are Saved Charts in both projects, as you foreseen.
Mike
thanks for clarifications.
At the moment I see no other solution that recreate the same Charts from scratch.

How to keep Saved Chart while merge 2 projects?
After four months I'm still stuck. I have a project with a big Saved Chart. I merge this project into another and would like to keep the Saved Chart. But I found no way, as discussed in previous topic . The problem is that FH crashes trying to open the imported Saved Chart. I bought FH 5 and updated...

Re: Keep saved chart on merge files
Thank you Jane, this plugin is very useful. I am not sure if the Family Record IDs are also stored in the Chart so that might mean they also need renumbering. A Chart handles individuals through IDs, I guess. If I modify individual IDs then reopen a Saved Chart, its appearance is changed because lin...

How much time wasted deleting empty fields!
Thank you for this revelation.

Is it possible to personalize the primitive tags are created when add a new record? For example that "Short Title" (ABBR) in any new Source... I NEVER use it and I always have to delete it after creation of a source! Maybe the plugin "Clone Any Record" can do that (didn't try sin...

Select same citation in All tab and Source Pane
This is a little thing but make me waste a lot of time. Usually I work in "All Tab" of Property box. Often I want to add citation details in Source Pane, so in All Tab I click the source citation I'm interested in, expecting to see in Source Pane details for this citation... but in Source ...

Links to external multimedia file
My goal is to create a gedcom file as compatible as possible with other applications. I use Family Historian because it seems reliable, but I found some difficulty using external multimedia files. Actually FH in multimedia links puts a user-defined _FILE tag 0 @O1@ OBJE 1 _FILE Mediafoo.jpg that is ...

Source citation for parents-child relationship
Where is the best place to add a Citation to a Source that demonstrate a parents-child relationship ?
Typically a source like 'John Smith son of Bill and Mary'.
The field should be a good place: it accepts Notes, and Sources to the Notes... but it doesn't accept a simple Source citation!

I'd like to write the occupation's company name. I found in GEDCOM standard release 5.5 the tag: CORP {CORPORATE}: A name of an institution, agency, corporation, or company. Sometimes in diagrams appear too much '90 degrees corners'... I'd like to have the option of diagonal or even curve lines between relatives, something like this http://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=File:RelationshipChartDescendants.png thanks! http://www.fhug.org.uk/wishlist/wldisplay....
