Re: Census UK Tab - my take
Makes perfect sense. I've adjusted my tab to suit. Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: Lights?
OK, thanks Jane. I did as you suggested and swapped themes and turned it off. The sound is so loud and jarring on my system it makes me jump and flinch every time. I know it's not a popular choice but I REALLY hate them - sorry. But all good now. Thanks again for finding the solution to remove them ...

Re: Lights?
I thought last year we agreed to have an option to turn off the sound. I REALLY hate it, it's incredibly loud at my default volume level.
I can't see any option on the User Control Panel.
I'm using Chrome.
Thanks Jane.
Edit: Just saw the Switch Sound link in the top left corner. Has no effect for me.

Plenty of ag labs in my family, I'll never make it on to TV!
But where would we be without our ag labs?

I wish they were optional because every year I hate them and the loud unnecessary noise through my speakers.
Sorry, I don't find them amusing any more.

Re: Minor changes on this site
Yuk! Sorry, but that new board style uses vast amounts of screen real estate with very little content - just lots and lots of space! For instance, with the 'old' style I can see all the forum topics and more (the whole page in fact) on http://www.fhug.org.uk/forum/ The new style only shows the first...

Re: Putting FH on an android tablet
I have a Nexus 7 with KitKat 4.4.2 and 2GB RAM. I have FamilyGTG and ezGED Viewer working OK with a 3MB GEDCOM file with 3000 individuals.
I would guess that your tablet is running out of resources with larger files.

Every day I'd hit the Main Menu - Downloads link at the left side to see the latest downloads. Now that link points elsewhere.
How do I get to see the latest items uploaded by users?
Thanks

Property Box Tab Organiser
Brilliant, well done!
No, take that back. You assume these files and Family Historian itself are in certain folders. Not here. I don't use the Program Files folder, for instance.
I can't see why you don't allow the user to point to the relevant PB-INDI.fhdata file.
As it is, it is unusable. Sorry.

Military Fact Sets
The Military Fact Set I edited heavily and uploaded here some while ago does have the MILITARY SERVICE fact. I didn't add any other facts for SHIP or SQUADRON as I didn't need them. I did use RESIDENCE fact for a ship. List what you would like to have and I'll create a new fact set if you wish. I do...

Customised tabs on Property Box
Thanks Linda, downloaded and edited into my existing custom property box file.
There's one or two things I'll add/change (attestation for instance) but it will save a lot of work, because getting those boxes aligned etc. can be tricky.
Well done again.

I see there is a IsAncestorOf function. I've not looked that closely. Can you put functions in these statements?
I'll have a play but to be honest I don't find the syntax easy.

Project Folder
Love V4 - the changes to the Properties window is worth the upgrade cost alone! Brilliant! I understand that in the long run it would be preferable to convert my gedcom files into projects. Although I have a very organized folder/file system and a very thorough backup system, I'm willing to do this....

I do something similar where I have a 'Spouse' column with the following code: [pre]INDI.~SPOU[last]>NAME[1]:PREFERRED[/pre] This gives the last spouse for everyone not just wives. Mind you, if you do that then other Marriage-related columns also need changing. I have a 'Marr. Date' column with: [pr...
