Re: Generic Sources
Mike, thanks so much for this step by step guide. I dont know how I did it but I managed to get a new source up. The only thing I am still struggling with is deleting all the "untitled" in the sources box, where it lists about 10 or so untitled with 0 or 1 citations. If I select the first one it won...

Generic Sources
I have just installed version 7 of Family Historian, I love this but at the moment I cant understand how to source my information. It says cite existing source, add new source from template, and new generic source. This was quite straight forward in the last version, but now I cannot work out how to...

Uploading Gedcom to Ancestry
Please could anyone talk me through how to upload a gedcom file to Ancestry. I have exported a gedcom file to desktop, then used the plug in on the exported gedcom to clean up people. Then when I go on Ancestry and find it, its starts to upload and then comes up with not a genuine gedcom. What am I ...

Re: Direct Ancestors
Tatewise, thanks for replying. My husband helps me find information on everyone on my tree. We put all the columns on the spreadsheet ie birth, baptism, marriage, census, death etc., and then when he finds them he colours them a certain colour to say he has found them so not to search again. Its just...

Re: Direct Ancestors
Thanks all of you for your help. Would there be any chance of talking me through how to do this. Maybe a better way would be how to show people that are not actually related (only through marriage), so I know from the spreadsheet who I dont need parents or information for. I am running a query like ...

Direct Ancestors
Please could anyone tell me if there is a quick way of putting all the direct ancestors in captital letters, I have quite a few and would take ages to do them all individually. If there is a better way I would appreciate it. Maybe additionally/instead, if they are a certain colour, could I list all ...

Hi Mike, thanks for replying, that sounds so complicated. I just wanted to upload my tree to Ancestry with details of the individuals who are living kept private, maybe I made it sound more complicated than it is. I thought you had to do a query or a named list or something. I am sure I have done som...

Re: Query for Everything
Thanks Tatewise, yes I have a line for each individual and a column for each basic fact starting from birth to burial, parents etc., a column for each census. Re: Query for Everything
Thanks Tatewise, sorry didn't get chance to sort this. Adding Dates to a Query
A couple of years ago I did a query for everything for everybody which listed every event, attribute, census etc., and showed whether I had obtained this or not, not sure if it was a plug in or downloaded query but I can`t find this now. I saved this as a spreadsheet and have colour coded everything...
