Re: V7 icons in diagrams ~ how to add them

Sorry the underscore was a typo.
But in the post earlier today JayBee used _TYPE and, as you say, they have previously used TITL.

Re: V7 icons in diagrams ~ how to add them

Did you mean
=IsTrue(%INDI.BURI.SOUR>_TYPE%=“Parish Register”) or
=IsTrue(%INDI.BURI.SOUR>_TITL%=“Parish Register”) ?

This might help : https://www.genguide.co.uk/source/polic ... cupations/

If you scroll to the 'Where Found' section it gives some pointers. But as others have said, you need to know which part of the country your relative served in.

Re: Details missing from named list

I noticed when I clicked on the heading Relationship to Root, by mistake, the relationships disappeared. That is my problem, getting them back. That's because when the column is sorted alphabetically any 'blank' relationships will be sorted at the beginning. It could be argued that they should be s...

Re: Questions from TMG Refugee

Linda, I'm not sure why you think the fact note is not visible in the Facts tab. Perhaps you have the Property Box reduced to a small height? Here is an example from the FH Sample Project, clearly showing the note for the selected fact. Property box Facts tab.JPG By the way you can choose not to inc...

Re: Details missing from named list

Hello Jean, To add briefly to Mike’s reply, as you have mentioned diagrams I wonder whether you are confusing a Diagram Root with a File Root . You can select any person in your file as the ‘root’ of any type of diagram so that it will display that person’s ancestors or descendants or both, or all t...

Re: Adding text to a diagram

It may have been set up this way so that it is consistent with the behaviour of other elements of a diagram. For inserted lines, shapes and pictues, as well as text boxes, a single right-click opens a menu of options, one of which is Format, and a double click opens a Format dialog directly. Similar...

Re: Adding text to a diagram

After inserting the box you need to right-click in it and choose Format (or just double-click in the box). You can then type text in the Text tab, as well as choose the font and size of text, alignment and margins.

Unfortunately the pop-up list of accented characters is not available when entering text in the search field of a plugin. However it is still possible to enter such characters in a plugin search using the more laborious method with the keyboard. Regarding your item 4, the “Search All Possible Names”...

Re: Questions from TMG Refugee

I am a long-term user of FH but have never used TMG so I can’t comment on the differences between the two. However I appreciate that when you have become accustomed to particular features it can be difficult to adjust to a different way of working. 1. Whether you have to scroll through the list on t...

The Select Source window opens with the same sort order as the Sources tab of the main Records window. So you need to sort alphabetically in the Records window.

Re: Google Drive

Did you definitely install it, or just download the installation file? Remember you need to click on the downloaded file to install it. I don't use Google Drive myself so can't give specific advice about the steps to set it up, but it should be fairly straightforward and the folder should be created...

When you open FH, what does it say at the top of the screen? Does it say [project name] - Family Historian Project- ? If not, you are not opening a full project but just a Gedcom file. You need to start by finding out where your projects are currently stored on your laptop. Click the magnifying glas...

Re: Details missing from named list

John,
In case it helps here is a screenshot of the Configure Columns for Named List showing the options I used. This produces INDI.FAMS[1]>DIV.DATE:ABBREV2 and INDI.FAMS[1]>DIV.PLAC which Mike and I have both mentioned.

Re: Findmypast 1921 census discount

There was a lengthy discussion about this question in this topic 20137|1921 UK census - how to reference a schedule from its Findmypast image? As you will see, there is no simple answer but if you use RG15 followed by RD (Registration district), SD (Sub district), ED (Enumeration district) and Sched...

Re: Ancestral Sources - full date of birth update in FH database

There is a setting for this in AS. Use Tools->Options->Census Settings and tick the "Offer to create birth facts..... even if existing birth includes place and date" option. By the way requests relating to AS should be posted in the AS forum, as the Wish Lists requests are for enhancements to FH its...

I'm not sure if what I am saying is understood. It's not the unfilled columns, rather the extra columns not included in the actual census.... Chris, in my earlier post in this topic I referred to another topic, 18603|US Census 1940 . Did you read that topic? The point is that the extra columns are ...

Re: Updating AS Census Auto Text Tables

Mike, you may be thinking of this topic 18603|US Census 1940 where the problem was that some of the extra columns at the bottom of the page in the US 1940 census were for supplementary questions only required for a sample of people. There was some discussion about whether they should be omitted from...

There is a standard Individual fact called Marriage Count which you could add to the individual and set to zero.
