Re: Apps for Android
Mike - many thanks for your support, and sorry I am making it difficult for you. I have decided to remove Gedstar from all my equipment and then re-install as a clean install with just one converted file following the instructions to the letter! I hope this works, Jeremy

Diagram Text
A LONG time ago you helped me to design a format within a diagram which showed the baptism date if there was no birthdate, and the burial date if there was no death date - this seems to have changed and no longer includes the burial part. Can you help me find it, please! Jeremy

Changing File Names
I seem to remember there is a way of changing file names that keeps the links. For example, I have a number of files in the style of "John Smith" and I would like to change them to be "Smith, John" but retain the links they have already got. Any ideas? Jeremy

Re: Media File Issues
Thanks to both Adrian and Mike. Looking at the list in more detail - there are a lot of census images that I might have downloaded on spec, and I think the rest are small discrepancies in the title (and I can see some) or, as Adrian puts it - they are a to do list. I will go quiet now while I work o...

Re: Media File Issues
OK, I have run Work with external file links, and there are now no X's. Check and repair shows 'no problems'. Check for unlinked media still shows a long list, minus the few that I have been able to link - I assume that means I will have to plod through them all. I don't know how that would have hap...

Re: Gedstar
Sorry, I have just found some 'x's which I will investigate. Just 2 so far, and I think I know why they are there! Jeremy

Re: Gedstar
Yes, it did work, thanks. You are correct that I was using that plugin, and got the output exactly as you showed. I have now just run the "work with external file links" programme, and it says there are 3 broken links it is unable to repair, but there are no "x"s - thanks for your help. Jeremy

Re: Gedstar
Mike, I am now returning to my labours, and have a question - I have 3 pages of "Files in Media Folder and not linked to project" BUT when I go to an individual record within FH, and go to the citation, I can pick up the image of the source record with no problem - any idea why the image is shown as...

File TCGedParse.cpp, line 209" Can you help with this, please, or suggest an altern...

Sources from a Family Tree Book
I am lucky enough to have a book recording the family tree of one branch of my tree. I plan to use the automatic source citation facility, but can I record the page number for each separate entry? In other words, the source is always Book 1, but each entry is probably on a different page - how can I...

Re: Frame Link Highlights
No, I am trying to highlight part of the image within the media record, and I thought I could use the "link to face" tool. I go to 'Add frame link' within the media record and draw round the part I want to highlight. I am sure in the past this would lighten that area and therefore draw attention to ...

Frame Link Highlights
I am trying to highlight a section of, say, a page of christenings from parish records. I need the whole page to show the year, normally, but wish to show the actual line I am interested in as a lighter shade. I am sure this has been possible, but I have forgotten how!! Jeremy

I am giving up! I will have to copy the .ged file to dropbox each time it changes. When I have the .ged file at the highest level in Dropbox I can open it using Family Bee, but when it is embedded within Family History Projects it seems a step too far! Thanks for all the advice, Jeremy

Nearly there!! I now have the full FH Projects folder on my HTC. When I go to select a .ged file within Dropbox to be read, I get 'No viewer available' and it offers me to download. This has no effect at all! I can only get Family Bee to read the file if the .ged file is in the Family Bee folder. So...
