Hi Jane Just noticed a bug in Family Historian. I have tried this several times now and always get the same result. When working in the Work with Multimedia objects window from the tools menu option. Inadvertently double clicking in the white space below the files in the multimedia pane, and also ...

Spliting Ancestors
Thanks Jane for your prompt reply, and sorry I wasnt clear enough. I want all the ancestors that you can see when you just select one person (myself), and then select the ancestors only diagram option. Ie Parents, Grandparents, G-Grandparents, etc, But in addition I also want to include just the c...

Spliting Ancestors
I am looking for a way to split all my ancestors down one direct line, and include their spouses and also their children only, so that I can then merge these into another Family history file. I have looked at the queries in FH and the Query store, but cant seem to find anything appropriate, Has an...

As the recording of data is a personal thing I think that, providing you make it clear in your record keeping up front, you could take either approach. However logic would seem to dictate that if your decedents wish to revisit your research at a later date. It will be easier to follow if you recorde...

Sorry Jane but I have to agree with David, I to preferred my original theme. I can only get the lemon theme which is playing havoc with my astigmatism, or the standard theme. Is there any chance of retaining the gray base which was my original choice, as well.

1851 Census
Hi David I actually sent off for this CD Earlier in the year to help trace my Warwickshire ancestors. The Cd took about 2 to 3 weeks to arrive, And for me was well worth the wait. It was easy to install. Not only can you search for individuals but you can also search for addresses, and there is an A...

Entering events and attributes globally?
Is it possible to enter events and attributes globally to all individuals, or say a subset of individuals, in one go. For example. I want to add from between 1 to 7 census events to a large group of my ancestors, all in one go if possible. That way I will only have to add up to 7 individual events...

Help with custom text schemes
As you suggested, I added the line =Relationship([''],%INDI%,TEXT,1) to all the possible box types with a * alongside them, ie. Descendent*, Duplicate* and Proxy*,(in this particular instance). This worked a treat. Am I right in assuming that I should apply this as a general principle, when creatin...

Help with custom text schemes
What I am hoping to achieve is to display all the information, on an all relative chart, that you see using the first default text scheme listed below but to add Occupation, Education, and Religion to the boxes. This is my attempt. When I chose this default text ...

Hi! Everyone yet another new member
Thank you Jane for your kind welcome. I look forward to participating, as soon as I can tear myself away from getting to grips with Family Historian. Over the years I have purchased many different software products, but none have offered the level of feedback to the program developer that this foru...
