Tracking connections in diagrams

Thank you for this advice Jane. It's not quite what I had in mind, but it's set me off on a new train of thought. I'm fairly new to the program and hadn't looked at the Query section at all until prompted by your reply. Now I'm well into it, so thanks again.

I doubt if this can be programmed but it's worth asking. I make great use of the All Relations diagram to map a very large family database. Frequently I need to trace the connections between individuals who are distantly related. This is possible within the existing structure only (I think) by 'manu...

Many thanks for this, and you are quite right. It wasn't anything multimedia because the cousins didn't have photos either, but they DID each have a brief text note.
