Another problem with reports
My subject's occupation is entered as "Butcher". When I call up a report, it says "He was a Butcher in Butcher". There is no (obvious) link between occupation and any location so how do I make it say "He was a Butcher."??

Unmarrieds shown as married in a report
Jane married Bill, they had 3 children. Recording the marriage and the children is straightforward. Jane and Bill then divorced. Jane had a child by John, they were not married. In Jane's individual box I have entered John as a spouse with the status "unmarried couple" and recorded the child against...

Re: Is it V5 or Windows 8?
Thank you both for being too polite to say I should read the manual! All is now well, went back to the old computer and found I had transferred the wrong file!

Is it V5 or Windows 8?
I have just, in order, got a new computer with W8, transferred an earlier version of FH to the new machine and then updated to V5. I find my main project appears to have "lost" a significant number of updates made over the last (don't know how many but lots!!) months/years. Have I done something wro...

Second marriage - names - help please
Mary Bloggs married Will Smith - I have no problem completing all boxes for them. She is now Mary Smith. When she goes on to partner Ed Brown, I want her main name box to say Mary Smith but I seem only to be able to put both names as alternatives and the one I choose as primary is the one that shows...

Child of unmarried couple
Thank you Jane. At risk of sounding picky, now the report says 'At some point she had a relationship with (father)...' which is a little blunt for the odd maiden aunt to read. Is there any way of amending the sentence that FH produces onesself?

Child of unmarried couple
Jane had a child by her second partner. They never married. No problem showing a tab for the father and the child but whatever I do with the married entry, (umarried or never married)if I call up an Ancestor Report it insists on saying 'Jane married (father)'. Am I missing a trick somewhere, I am fo...
