Re: Setting up AS for Banns
Basically, AS does not do Banns. However... I created a Banns auto-text template (I have several different ones) and I essentially fill in the the marriage details using the day of first Banns. Then copy the AS auto-text to the Text from Source on a Banns source I create and an event 3x each dated ...

Setting up AS for Banns
I have downloaded the templates from https://www.fhug.org.uk/kb/download/ancestral-sources-auto-text-templates-for-marriages-and-banns/ intending to set them up so I can capture Banns. However, despite there being several forum posts on the topic, I cannot find a clear set of instructions to do this...

Re: DNA Fact
Sorry if I am reopening an old thread, but it seems relevant. Until now I have documented DNA matches outside FH. Now I want to add that match information to relevant individuals. If not, then in Tools > Fact Types... tick Show Hidden and DNA Match should be listed as <undefined>. The previous discu...

Re: Bulk update of Event Addresses
That begs the question of how you know that the facts in your Project are genuine. Without any Source Citations, how can you prove that the entries are a true record? You are right of course, I need to do this properly and add the correct source citations and at the same time update the address det...

Bulk update of Event Addresses
For a long time, I have been adding the Address along with the Place for events like Baptisms, Marriages and Burials. However, I do have about 2300 events that currently do not have the corresponding Address field populated (almost always the church dedication). For each Place it is often easy to wo...

Norman, yes it works exactly as I expected and retains the Address information for the next time.
Thanks,

Birth and marriage versions attached. CRD(UK) Marriages.fh_lua CRD(UK) Birth.fh_lua Let me know if you have any issues or questions. Norman, as I have said these do work well. As I am coming to this as a long-term user of the Add GRO Source plugin. That of course uses three pre-prepared sources, Ho...

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
Step 1: Prepare a citation to the appropriate Civil Registration Index source: These notes would be really useful if they were at least on the relevant Knowledge Base page i.e. a V7 version of https://fhug.org.uk/kb/kb-article/recording-data-from-civil-registration-sources/ As to the inefficiencies...

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
Thanks Norman. I've just tried your plugin and it works how I expected.
The link to Mike's post is helpful, at least it explains how the other plugin is intended to work, but the result is not what I am was looking for and really it's not very efficient.
Thanks
Graham

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
This feels like I am entering some of the data twice like the person's name and fact date. Then it does not provide me with a lookup for the places, yes it does find them when you start to type, but that feels a little cumbersome.

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
I think the first issue is maybe how the sources link to the Plugin. There does not appear to be a prompt or any settings.

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
You complete the Prepared Citation with the minumum details as requested by the DEA. The plugin then prompts for any additional info needed to create the facts and Text from Source. The workflow for this is really not clear. So for example, I create 1. A death fact for an individual 2. Add a citati...

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
A bit of a mystery. I am a long-term user of FH, but I don't seem to be able to set up the Record Civil Registration Data (UK) plugin. The Plugin Store doesn't seem to have instructions for this plugin on its download page or in the plugin itself. Here is what I have done. I have created three sourc...

Spouse ID in Individual display
In my Record List for individuals, I show the first spouse's name where one exists. How can I also show the ID of that same spouse? I don't seem to be able to find the correct expression.
Thanks

Re: Add GRO Source plugin
I've still continued to use this Add GRO Source plugin (1.3.4). On later death entries in the index it gives the actual date of birth as informed at the time of registration. Can this field be added to the plugin to create a corresponding birth fact in addition to the age field?
Thanks,
Graham

Re: Confirmation screen needs to be resizable
Sorry,
1920 x 1080
Font was 10pt
Reducing the font to 9 or 8 pt partially resolves the problem such that the dialog now fits the screen. Only reducing the scaling to 125% actually stops the bottom edge of the dialog from cutting across the buttons.
Thanks.

Re: Confirmation screen needs to be resizable
Dropping the scaling to 125% fixes the problem. Is it a challenge to add scroll bars or make the box resizable in a future update?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Confirmation screen needs to be resizable
Here is a second question. The confirmation screens for the creation of birth and death events often have a large number of fields such that the dialog is too large for the display screen. The buttons are often missing and do not appear to be resizable or have scroll bars. Note the cropping at the f...
