Re: Cleaning up data

Hi Mike

I've found that if open a note and click in the text area a space seems to appear. If I delete this space and close the note it can now be found. Ho hum I've only got 90 to fix :)

Cheers

Re: Cleaning up data

Hi Mike

Some of my media files are annotated TIF and Some TIFF. Is there a global replace option anywhere please?

I've also noticed that in the Records Window Notes tab the filter does not work. I just returns blanks all the time. Is there a reason for this?

Re: Cleaning up data

Hi Mike Got most of them fixed. Not much I can do where no Birth/Death/Marriage dates exist, apart from more research :) What are your thoughts on "Fact Date is later than the individual's death date." For example William Anderson dies sometime between 1851 and 1856. But his son marries in 1877. Anc...

Cleaning up data

Hi Mike On the Plug-ins Forum we talked about my GEDCOM file being in need of a little attention following problems exporting to FTM. I've pretty much used the same GEDCOM file for 20 years as it started in PAF and then FTM before being imported to FH at Version 1. As you know I'm fairly computer li...

Re: Export Gedcom File/FTM 2014

Hi Mike I've sent the file via e:mail. But a breakthrough... I had a flash of reasoning and re-downloaded the image from Scotland's People. Wonder of wonders the export now completes. So your reasoning was perfectly correct. But will we ever understand why that particular image screwed things up in ...

Re: Export Gedcom File/FTM 2014

Hi Mike As part of the data clean up I was going to, as you suggested, move some stray documents into D:\Users\Ron\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Stewart\Stewart.fh_data. This is where I keep all my files in separate folders as per Census Records, DC Records etc. However I just seen that some f...

Re: Export Gedcom File/FTM 2014

HI Mike There is no error message. I just get a windows dialogue box telling me that Family Historian has stopped working. Closing the box closes FH. I hadn't realised that the FTM export copies across all the media files, but the Ancestry one doesn't. But I had plenty of room on the drive. Just in ...

Re: Export Gedcom File/FTM 2014

Hi Mike Thanks for your prompt help. The story so far... I fixed the external links and encountered the same problem. Looked at the UDF's and found 36 issues, mainly around source notes (_FOOT) Ran the 2.2 version and FH came to a screaming halt at 42%. Fixed all the UDF's Now plug in always stops a...

Export Gedcom File/FTM 2014

Hi Mike

I'm using V2.2, FH6 & Windows 10 and trying to export to FTM 2014. The problem is I get an error. (See attached .jpg file). The plug in works fine with other exports I've tried.

Thanks in advance for your help

Maps and Chapman Codes

Hi All

Is there anyway of changing FH6 so that it can recognise Chapman County codes when using the mapping feature. At the moment all my Perthshire relatives seem to be born/live/die in Peru!

Many thanks

Re: Property Box Tabs Military, Census & Wills

I've also just downloaded the Military and Census Property Boxes. But is there any way I can move the tabs around? I've got so used to having Facts next to Main I keep clicking the wrong tab.

Thanks in advance

I wish someone had told me . . . When I started

Computers and software changes...but GEDCOM remains a constant.

Paperwork is still necessary.

Query help please?

It's not pretty but I've managed to do it using Family rather than Individual. I guess I'll have to clear it all up using Excel.

But, of course, if anyone has a better suggestion...

Query help please?

I have been placing birth, marriage and death index results in the Facts notes for that particular event.  Now I want to write a query to pull them all out before going to the record office.  I can get births out using %INDI.BIRT.NOTE2% and %INDI.DEAT.NOTE2% for deaths.  But I can't find a correspon...

Diagram Question after AS entry

Since I've started using AS to input my census data I've noticed that my diagrams are showing new wording for the later census's when Occupation is selected. Customised tabs on Property Box

I've downloaded and run Militry Fact Set 2, and reloaded the Property Box Customisation. It's all getting better but lines (like rank) still disappear when I move away from the page and then go back.

Customised tabs on Property Box

Jane

Seems to be installed Ok as I get the tab and contents up. However any time I type anything in and click anywhere it goes blank. However in the 'ALL' tab the data I have entered shows in a line called Custom Event.

Probably a newbie problem.

Customised tabs on Property Box

Apologies for  butting into this thread.  I have a problem with the same property box.  I can get the box in FH. but when I enter in any data the box stays blank.  Where have I gone wrong please?
