I'll try the other pdf drivers/creators.
Many thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Avoid Page Boundaries in Default settings?
Yes, I do that, but quite often these pdfs end up being well over 4000mm wide, so it creates 2 or sometimes 3 pages.

Re: Avoid Page Boundaries in Default settings?
Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.
It's only because I use it all the time with the Ancestors and Descendants diagrams, so that the pdfs don't ever cut through someone's face or box on the far right.
Only a small thing, as I'm happy to click on the icon each time.
Was just wondering.
Thanks.

Avoid Page Boundaries in Default settings?
Hi,
Is there a way of setting "avoid page boundaries" in the default settings, so that every diagram that is produced automatically avoids page boundaries?
I am still using FH 5.011.

Export Gedcom of data shown in Ancestors & Descendants Diag
When you click on someone's details and create an Ancestor and Descendant diagram, you get that person's siblings as well as ancestors and descendants on the diagram (i.e. descendants of the siblings too).
Is there then a simple way of exporting all of the data in this diagram to a gedcom file?

Default folder and settings for "Save as pdf"
When I go to Diagram>Save Diagram As PDF and use the Family Historian PDF printer option, it tries to save the pdf in the Public folder of my Projects\Family Tree folder. The profile says "Family Historian Profile (Private profile)" in pink and then "Use folder from LOCAL computer" in yellow. I woul...

Map showing all emigration locations
Is there a way of producing a google world map (or similar) showing the locations of everyone in my family historian database. My family originated from a tiny village in Italy and there are now relatives all over the world. I would therefore like to produce such a map showing tags for all these loc...

Marriage length
Thanks for all this and to Jane for writing the plugin.
I think there is still a problem, now in reverse to the one I posted earlier.
If there is a death date for the husband, but not for the wife, then the marriage length is calculated using today's year.

Marriage length
Many thanks. Much appreciated.
It almost works except for when there is a death date for the wife but no death date for the husband, when it then seems to use today's date to calculate the marriage length.

Marriage length
Someone has asked me if their parents' 70th wedding anniversary represents a record anniversary within our family.
Is there a query available to show the length of a marriage (i.e. from marriage date to divorce or death of one partner)?

Setting lots of Living Flags in a list
I have just entered the details of about 200 newly discovered relatives.
Is there a quick way of setting the living flag for each of them by e.g. running down a list and changing the flag to Y, rather than having to set the flag individually by right clicking etc.

Sorry, Jane, but I'm not an expert with queries and have only used custom ones. Does this require expert knowledge? Any chance of breaking this down into simple steps for me?

Is it possible to export a filtered gedcom file that omits the photos of living people? I would then like to use this new file to publish web pages without completely destroying the original FH file.

Thanks. Can anyone recommend a program that is compatible with FH gedcom output format. I am looking to be able to: 1. I am trying to create a webpage using an external program such as Gedscape (in fact, I have tried several different such programs). I use these rather than the FH utility because I want to show navigable descendant and pedigree charts etc. However, my big problem is that not one of my images seem to...

Thanks, Peter.
What's the best way of creating father.ged in the first place. I have tried various ways but seem to get rid of too many relatives.

How do I remove my mother's side of tree
That's great. What about the linked photos? Do I have to sort through those manually or is there a way to create a separate folder of just the photos on my father's side?

How do I remove my mother's side of tree
I need to send a copy of the FH GED file to a cousin related to me on my father's side. Before I do this, I would like to remove all the data and multimedia records of relatives on my mother's side as these people will not be related to this cousin. Please can someone talk me through how to do this?...
