Actually it is possible, quite easily if you have the right tools.
As previously posted I have successfully run v.3 and v.4 as single standalone .exe files and it is extremely handy for when away from home.

FH on USB stick
Just recieved my v4 upgrade disc and recompiled it to a single standalone file and it runs fine off a usb stick - not tested it as a 'project' as I only need to work on the ged file when out and about or at work but am guessing it'll be fine.[cool]

While Jane is correct in stating FH cannot be 'installed' onto a usb stick it certainly can be 'compiled' onto one.
I run v3.1 successfully and its a handy thing to have.
Not considered encryption but I think this is a wise move if you carry living relatives data around

Gedcom Census with TNG - Help
Just started using TNG to build a web site. Have also started using g.census to build up my census records but they dont seem to show up in TNG. Is this a gedcom problem? do I need to do anything in TNG to make it viewable? [confused] I also want to have the census images viewable. Any TNG users car...

Memory Stick with U3 : can one use demo FH on it?
While FH may not have been designed to run on a usb stick it does so very well. I have recently compiled a full 3.1 version into a single file and it runs with full functionality except obviously you cant download and install custom reports and such like or upgrades. I find it extremely useful to be...

FH overpriced download ?
Had a nice reply from Simon.
Gone for the retail box version with the free upgrade to v4.
Got to admit the user interface looks somewhat dated but for sheer ease of use and versatility it beats the competition I think.

Tree - sticking A4 sheets together
Try kingprint.co.uk - small family firm in Luton, never had them print anything other than A5 or A4 leaflets but they were half the price of pronta print and the other big boys

FH overpriced download ?
I agree to a point, but I just feel a download version should retail cheaper than a boxed edition, be it from a reseller or a high street store. And I find it a bit bizarre that the resellers advertised on the site are cheaper, it sort of makes me wonder why they even have a download option on there...

FH overpriced download ?
I've been using FH2 for a number of years quite happily and thought it about time I upgraded as I have found a renewed interest the past few months. Really pleased to see V3 being offered with a free upgrade to v4, but can't believe that it is actually more expensive to download via the publishers s...
