I have the transcript of my grandfathers war diary from 18th August 1914 - 13th February 1915, when he returned to UK sick.
I have been unable for find anything else of his war record. In WWII he was a Major in the Home Guard.

My Grandfather was in the Royal Engineers in WWI (One).
Do you know if there was a diary for then, and do you have to get a different CD for certain years?  I looked on the website, but couldn't see where I could purchase these.

Thank you for explaining the FH v5 Backups.

That sounds very good advise, which I think I shall adopt. I will definately try to manage the backup folder, so I don't end up with too many backups.

Do other users have my problem? I have 'backed up and copied' files time and time again, scared of losing information. I now have an external hard disk full and well as my pc. I ordered my V5 Upgrade through the My History link at 2.20pm Wednesday 28th March and received it 1st Class mail 9.40am Thursday 29th - Less than 20 hours - delivered to Scotland. Excellent, couldn't wish for better service.
