What can I say........read the ID number! The plugin actually produced an acceptable number for my wife's side so the error is totally mine.
Sorry to have caused the problem, but thanks for your help. Going back to sleep now!

Re: Plugin: "All pool relatives except partner ancestors"
Thanks for the advice Mike, I think that splitting my tree is probably unnecessary and causing more hassle than I need.
Project abandoned!
Just out of interest, I had unticked all 4 boxes but the result set number was 47 more the Records Window number!
I would like to know where I went wrong.

Re: Plugin: "All pool relatives except partner ancestors"
Thanks Mike, I am sure this is my error but appreciate your help. I now have version 07 of the plugin but get same result. I wish to have as two new additional projects, separate trees for my wife's ancestors and my ancestors. I have selected my wife prior to running the plugin. There is no connecti...

Plugin: "All pool relatives except partner ancestors"
Trying to use this Plugin to separate my wife`s ancestors from my own to run as a separate tree but despite following Mikes instructions it is not working. Have also read Bob Wards post of 01 Sept 17. I have probably missed something out, can someone give me line by line instructions please. Bruce E...

Hello Mike, Sorry to be so unknowledgeable on this but on my new laptop (almost empty) there is not a programme where I can enter the V5 or V6 upgrade codes into. New laptop
Wish to transfer my complete FH programme including Media to a new laptop. I have registration key and FH 5 & FH 6 upgrade keys. Do I start by copying to a separate hard drive and opening on the new laptop or is there an easier way? Both are running Windows 10. Can I run on both computers short term?

Not a computer expert I`m afraid!
Thanks for any replies.

Have just installed Windows 10. Backed up FH prior to this but the desktop link to FH has disappeared.
The FH file folder is on my backup disk.
How can I open and login to the FH programme to load the file?
Was using FH 6.

Microsoft Security message
I have recently started getting a message from "Microsoft Security Essentials" every time that I start my computer telling me that "items detected on my PC require further analysis". The programme listed is C:\Programme Files\Family Historian\Programme\Fh.exe. Do I have a problem somewhere? I have r...

Re: Synch Online/Offline Trees
My Heritage is teamed with FH but the costs of the full package are quite high. Is the investment worthwhile?
It would appear to solve some of the importing problems.

Re: Exporting to FTM
Thanks for the quick reply
Firstly, my latest tree on Fh is not shown as stored in the project media folder, how do I store it there?
I am not using Link to Face/ Detail
" when you imported the GEDCOM file into FTM none of the media files are linked" Yes that is correct.
Thanks
Bruce

Exporting to FTM
I am trying to export my FH tree to Family Tree Maker. Using V6.0, Selected Export to FTM. Used ANSI and "Use existing file paths for external links" Most of the media is in the FTM tree media file (some missing) but is all Unlinked. How can I Export to FTM fully linked or should I export to Ancestr...

Re: V5.0.11 Running slow/freezing.
Thanks for all your help but I still have the problem. I have tried everything suggested, already use CC Cleaner and Malware byte. Would unloading and reloading FH be an answer? If so how could I safely do this? "Keen to upgrade to V6 but reluctant whilst I have this "hanging and freezing" problem w...

V5.0.11 Running slow/freezing.
Thinking about upgrading to V6 but my current version is running slow, have to wait for it to go to Focus window etc.
Occasionaly sticks/freezes for maybe 30/ 40seconds. Is it my computer or FH?
Using Windows 7.
What can I do?

V5 slow running

V5 slow running
Thanks Mike, FH exe cpu runs up to 50 when starting up. You may also have hit on a problem that could be causing the slow running. Sometime recently I suddenly found that I had acquired a huge number of duplicate media, sometimes as many as 5 duplicates on one persons file. I have tried to use Janes...

V5 slow running
I am using version 5.0.9. and on opening it takes a few moments longer than usual to load and 'sticks' for a few seconds. Also when I go to bring up a diagram of an individual I get a 'ghost' image of the Focus window on the screen before the diagram appears. This only started a couple of weeks ago....

FH freezing & slow.
My FH (5.07) is running slowly and `freezing`. (Bit like the weather!) This started about a week ago for no known reason. When I open the programme and select an individual to open a chart, it shows a `shadow` of the project box on the chart for a few seconds and then clears but often freezes whilst...
