iPad apps
Following Colin's suggestion I have now tried Heredis as well. Each works in a different way. None is exactly what I want because they are not Family Historian! Here are my personal opinions, in case anyone else is looking. I have used Family Historian since 2004 and my tree now has 3360 people in i...

iPad apps
I have recently purchased an iPad and struggled to find a genealogy app. I don't think there is much demand. I eventually bought MobileFamilyTree Pro, my 3 star review is currently the latest. One of my gripes was the price, which has since halved. Has anyone used the new GedFamilies app mentioned o...

FH stopped working
Same problem with Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit, starting today. I have had the 'uninstall and re-install McAfee' advice from BT for several other similar problems with other programs in the past and it usually works. It's a tedious process so I will watch this forum until you say it is the right th...

Index of Wills and Administrations 1861-1941
Anne is right about the time it takes. My first one arrived after six weeks and am still waiting after 7 for the next one. A pre-recorded telephone message says 'unexpectedly high demand has led to....' They must have been aware that Ancestry were doing this and they should have been aware of what a...

There was no free trial for PalmVista so I didn't try it. Many thanks for looking.
I have now thrown Vista away and gone back to XP. However, FH worked perfectly with Vista and with my new widescreen monitor you can see all of every column.

Vista
I've mentioned this in the PDA post as well. My Palm will not sync documents with Vista. I used to back up the FH database as a Word document and also via GedStar. Neither work now and there may not be an update until late this year.

I use GedStar to put my FH files on my Palm Tungsten T3 and it works perfectly. However it uses 'quick install' and this is not compatible with Vista. Anyone got any ideas?
