Re: Backup settings plug-in: when to use

Thanks. That's more or less what I thought but makes me feel more confident I understand what's going on. I'm not a power user so I think my existing backup regime is probably adequate if I add in a regular run of the plug-in.

Backup settings plug-in: when to use

I've followed a number of threads on the forum and am left a bit confused - can someone help me? I'm running v6.2 under Windows 10. It seems good practice to run the Backup settings plug-in, but is there a recommendation as to how often to do this? I do a "large" backup from FH every time I update m...

Re: Recovering missing custom facts

Hi Mike, I think I've figured out the problem but I'm still not sure of the solution. My desktop PC was originally Windows XP I think, with a free upgrade to Windows 7 and has now been upgraded to Windows 10. About 6 months ago I bought a new laptop (Win 10) and installed FH on it, synchronising dat...

Recovering missing custom facts

Over the years I've set up a few custom facts, though never wrote down what they were. I've recently clicked the button to upgrade to 6.1 and 6.2 and have noticed that I now only have the standard facts and the custom ones have disappeared. Is there any way to get these back (I'm not sure exactly wh...

Re: Putting FH on an android tablet

Thanks to all for the help. The problem with Family Bee seems to be that it doesn't recognise files on my MicroSD card - even though Android file manager can see them. I installed Family GTG and had the same problem, but moving the gedcom file to the internal storage seems to have worked.

Re: Putting FH on an android tablet

Thanks for the suggestion of using GeneaNet, but that seems to require upload of my gedcom file into their "online family trees". I'm not sure that I want to do that - what I'm after is an app that will display my own gedcom file offline, in a usable form, not least as it's not always possible to ge...

Re: Putting FH on an android tablet

It's 6 months since the last post on this thread so I'm wondering if the situation has changed. I've just got my first Android tablet and was hoping to be able to load my gedcom file into an app that would let me navigate a family tree and see all my data - I'm happy to do any editing of my master f...
