Re: How to duplicate sources
There is a plugin called "Clone Any Record" which can be used to clone any record (Individual, Family, Source, Repository, etc.). Install the plugin. Select the source to clone on the Sources tab of the record window. Run the plugin from the Tools menu. It is easiest if you Edit the plugin and add i...

Des,
The "How Related" tool can be used to show the relationship between any two individuals in your project. You as root do not need to be one of the two individuals.

Re: Marriage and Banns
Hi Lyn,
Sorry... I misread your original message.
You can download them and save them anywhere you wish. Then open Ancestral Sources and use Tools > Autotext Template Editor.
Then select the Source type and then click on the Import button and find the template to import.

Re: Oddity when pasting Footnote text from FH to word processor
Interesting observation. I wonder what changed within the last few months. I too would be curious to know if it happens with generic sources. I tried it with my generic sources. I normally have the Title in Italics and everything else not italicized. If I cut and paste it into word, I get this. Bio...

Re: What is the Rel. column in the children section of the Focus Window?
So precisely, what does Rel. stand for. I even tried resizing the columns to see if Rel. was an abbreviation. My first thought was that Rel. stood for relationship, but apparently not with what shows in the column. That column has two things in it. The first is a code which indicates the relationsh...

Re: Adding sources without templates
Rosemary, I am going to step out of this topic as I think you are probably better off only working with one person and Mike is much more knowledgeable than me on Family Historian. If you decide you want to ask me a question in the topic I would be happy to try and help. Good luck. Persevere and I'm ...

Re: Standardized Place Names
Map, Map all places, then select a place. That appears to just open the same property box as using Records LIst > Places tab then select a place. I am able to enter into the Standardized place field fine even if I have added a second one like you have. Seems like something is wrong with your proper...

Re: Standardized Place Names
In the place box how do I enter information in the Standardized box. If I enter text iot is erased more or less as fast as I can type. How did you get to the window in your screenshot? If you went to the Places tab in the Records window and selected a place there, you should be able to enter into t...

Re: Adding sources without templates
Thanks Bill, so as I see it you have to create a Source first and then paste in the Citation details? I didn't realise that, as when I'm typing notes, the Source and Citation are just lumped together as a Footnote. Rosemary, This isn't exactly what I'm saying. Mike is right. First create the citati...

Re: Adding sources without templates
You are correct Bill, and after adding the Source Citation to the first fact would be a bit quicker for all the others. However, with the recommended 'splitter' Source Citation per household the Citation fields are usually empty. It is true that for censuses I don't use the Text from Source or Note...

Re: Adding sources without templates
To work manually, you must open the Property Box of each of the 7 household members in turn. Then on the Facts tab, add the Census Event, and Occupation Attribute if relevant, and perhaps Birth Event details. For each new fact use the Add Citation button shown on the left of Bill's screenshot and c...

Re: Adding sources without templates
You can copy and paste citations. Select the event on the Facts tab. Go to the Sources For: pane and select the citation. Use the icon in the toolbar of the Sources For: pane to copy the citation. Go to the individual you wish to copy the citation to. Go to their Facts tab. Select the event. Use the...

Relationship between two people (neither being the root person)
Would it be possible to create a query that would let you prompt for any two individuals and give you the relationship between those two individuals? Neither of these individuals would be the root individual. I've played around, but haven't been able to figure out how to do this. If it isn't possibl...

See FHUG Knowledge Base Delete One or Many Records under Deleting Many Records. However, take a Backup beforehand jus...
